2) Awakening and Determination For Complete Obedience To God's Word: Usually, human organizations do not demand total loyalty to authorities of men. Parents may not demand complete obedience from their children. They may make provision to accommodate their weaknesses and little stubbornness. Educational institutions do not demand 100% scores from their students but expect satisfactory performance from them. Many think these principles apply to God's Word and His standard. Many Christians are working for minimum qualification for heaven. The examination questions for heaven are objective and you must pass all. If you fail one, you fail all. Don't think you are trying. You must do it perfectly and rightly to enter heaven.
3) Commitment and Prayer For God's Sufficient Grace: We are called upon to give ourselves unto God with all our commitment to Him. We must pray to God to keep our commitment to God and to our leaders. Psalm 119:4-6 says, "Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently. O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes! Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.” In obedience we come.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: God gives value only to those that obey His word. Are you one?
SONG FOR THE DAY: I am ready to obey thy word …
BIBLE READING FOR THE DAY: Joshua 19-20; Luke 5:17-39
THE VOICE OF THE LORD
“Now it shall be, if you diligently listen to and obey the voice of the Lord your God, being watchful to do all His commandments which I command you this day, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth”. Deuteronomy 28:1 AMP
The voice of the Lord represent instructions from God. We listen to the voice of the Lord through his word (written or spoken), his commandments and also through what he reveal to us in our Spirit. Without instructions obedience donot exist. We can choose to obey only after an instruction is passed.
“We can only hearken when an instruction is passed. And you can only get instructions when you are positioned in alignment with the Holy Spirit”
The bible is a prophetic book, a user guide for believers to run their Christian race. In the Bible are instructions from God to the past apostles, prophets and others who worked with God. They received those instructions because they were positioned in alignment with God. Moses needed to first be prepared, aligned, trained to hearing the voice of the Lord before he was sent to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt. Anyone who operate without being first trained to decern or know the voice of the Lord lacks understanding.
God can speak to anybody but not the same way. God works with strategy. The strategy for Moses when it was time to cross the red was that through his rod (Exodus 14), the red sea will path, when it was time for Joshua to lead the people through it was for him to lead them in front and then the river pathed (Joshua 3). But when it was time for Jesus the strategy was for Him to walk on water (Matthew 14:24-25).
Don’t copy strategy, receive strategy from God.
When Joshua was about to cross river Jordan, if he wasn’t positioned in alignment with God he might have just looked for any rod and stretch it and the water might not path. But God told him the strategy to cross the river Jordan at that time because he was positioned in alignment, he was connected.
As children of God, God can speak to us anytime. We have to stay connected to hear him.
All forms of hearing is important, if you say that you only hear God speaking to you when you read your Bible, what then happens when you are not with a Bible?
We need to always stay aligned with the HolySpirit. What we do between the period of fellowship with God early in the morning and late at night matters alot. If a person start his day praying and meditating on the word of God and after doing that he left thinking his fellowship continues when he returns to his secret place, then that person might become a victim of the devil if he is not allowing himself to be led by the Holy Spirit. Our fellowship with God should be consistent (John 15:4b).
“the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine”
Our fellowship with God should be consistent not ‘pause and play’. consistent or continuous fellowship with God keeps us aligned and enable us to bear good fruit (do the will of God).
In conclusion, Jesus is the way to alignment with God. If you will not come to God through Jesus, you cannot be aligned with God. Jesus is the way to upright standing with God. If you are ready to make this decision or you want to rededicate your life back to him say this “Lord Jesus I believe in you, that you died for me, so I can be restored to Uprightness in the sight of God. Please Lord I ask that you come into my heart today, take over, I am yours and you are mine. Thank You for Saving me, Amen.”
