I’m in…heaven 😇

This is what I hope for!!!

Put things in perspective as this pertains to how big and how great our new city will be!!! Fun math problem on this beautiful day!

And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

^^ this tells us the total 12000 furlongs

And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.”

‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

What is the distance from ground to second heaven? - 30,000 ft

So we have 144 cubits per wall  (arm length measure of an Angel now… not a man. They could be 12 ft tall…. Or 8 who knows!

Convert meter to miles

Feet to miles

1 furlong = 600 feet (185m)

Measure- 12,000 furlongs (total measure)

600x600x600

(3 sets of 6s…. How interesting. I like furlongs better lol)

185x12000= 2,220,000 meters (total)

That’s :

7283464 feet

Or 1379miles

That means the city walls are- literally- 1379 miles LONG, and HIGH, and WIDE!!!

🤯🤓

Remember 1 mile = 5280 ft

There’s only 62 miles from the ground to “space” aka the waters above (frozen)-

Which means our city will extend to and above the frozen waters! Hence another reason why Jesus must change our bodies to be fit to live in those conditions!

A furlong (stadion) is about 606 ft. 6 in., or 185 m. Thus, 12,000 furlongs would be about 1,378.4 mi. (2,218 km.). The text does not tell us whether this is a measure of the circumference or of one side of the city. If the former is intended, the city would measure about 344.6 mi. (551.4 km.) to a side. The city is perfectly a square. Such measurements make this city humongous. Some have tried to explain the dimensions of the city because it is hard to imagine a city reaching upward 12,000 (or 3,000) furlongs.

Whatever uncertainty there may be as to the precise size of the city, it is without a doubt that the glories of that celestial city will far exceed the human imagination. “But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him” (1 Corinthians 2:9). This verse expresses the unimaginable wonder, beauty and joy of God’s kingdom of glory. All such knowledge is far beyond anything that humans may know today (Isaiah 64:4).

The Bible is clear that real people will do real things in heaven and they will rejoice their labor “They shall build houses, and inhabit them and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. They shall not build, and another inhabit they shall not plant, and another eat: … mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands” (Isaiah 65:21, 22). The righteous will build their own homes in the new earth (in addition to the city mansions built by Christ-John 14:1-3).

The cube shape of the New Jerusalem reminds us of the cube shape of the Holy of Holies in the Tabernacle, the dwelling place of God on earth in the Old Testament. It was a perfect cube measuring fifteen feet on every side. Likewise, the Holy of Holies in Solomon’s Temple was a thirty-foot cube. 5 “The New Jerusalem, also a perfect cube, will be like a huge Holy of Holies, a cosmic Temple, where God dwells eternally. The parallels between the New Jerusalem and the Garden of Eden (a river, the tree of life, and God’s presence) and the Holy of Holies have led some to call the New Jerusalem the ’Edenic Temple-City.’”

“And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones.

The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst

And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.”

‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21‬:‭18‬-‭27‬ ‭KJV‬‬
