(There are 7 empires that must rule in this location of Babylon. USA does not fit that description.) (It’s clear in these verses that “7 mountains” actually refer primarily to 7 empires throughout time, with an end time revival of one of the empires. But it is generally also accepted as being literally 7 mountains also. New York City is not located on 7 mountains, nor 7 hills.)

This indicates an African or middle eastern city of Babylon), and all manner vessels of ivory (Selling of new ivory is illegal in America, so Babylon cannot be the USA, nor New York City), and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense (Growing of Frankincense in the USA is extremely rare. And the use of it is also rare in the USA compared to the middle east, Asia and Africa), and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men. (It is the nations of Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Russia and China that will be importing American slaves after the destruction of America.)
14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.
15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,

This is a middle eastern custom.)
20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.
21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.
22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;
23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth. (America has never been responsible for the blood of saints and prophets. That crime was committed by Mecca, Rome, Assyria and Saudi Arabia.)

Why Rome Cannot Be The End Time City of Babylon

Lots of people believe that the great city of Babylon of the end times is the city of Rome, or the Vatican. The Vatican is both a city and a nation of its own & it fits the requirement of murdering the apostles & prophets of Jesus Christ. But the Vatican is not a major worldwide shipping port.
When we think of the world’s major shipping ports and great cities of worldwide commerce, we typically think of New York City, Singapore, Hong Kong and China. Yet China, Hong Kong and Singapore don’t have any historical connection with the bible, apostles & prophets. I don’t usually think of Rome or Italy being one of the world’s most important seaports or centers of trade & merchandise. However, I discovered in my research that it currently exports twice as much as Saudi Arabia. But Saudi Arabia exports more oil than Rome or Italy. Saudi Arabia is increasing in other exports & is predicting a huge increase in other exports/imports with the development of NEOM.
After the manifestation of the Islamic 12th Imam Mahdi, the “antichrist” (Son of Perdition), pilgrims to Mecca will surely increase and so will business, merchandise, trade and exports and imports for Saudi Arabia. We can’t look only at current conditions alone. We must think of future conditions.

Land of 7 Mountains

Rev.17:9 "And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth."

It's very possible that the "7 mountains" might be symbolically referring to 7 empires throughout time. But in addition to that, it could also be speaking literally as well. There are many mountains in Saudi Arabia, including in the land area of NEOM. But when I pulled up the map (below) of Saudi Arabia, I was shocked to see that the map shows 7 main mountain peaks in Saudi Arabia. Look near the border of Jordan for "2,580 m". Then go south from there and count how many mountain peaks are high enough to be listed complete with height. Exactly Seven! In addition to this, NEOM will be the 7th modern city they have built in recent years, & it's my belief that NEOM could connect all 7 cities together in its effort to be 33 times larger than NYC and 12x larger than New Jerusalem. Perhaps it's 7 empires and 7 cities and 7 literal mountains! Neom fits all of this!
The original settlement of Rome was developed on seven hills: the Aventine Hill, the Caelian Hill, the Capitoline Hill, the Esquiline Hill, the Palatine Hill, the Quirinal Hill, and the Viminal Hill. However, those are hills & not mountains.

Not Enough Time to Build A City 33 Times Larger Than New York? That's More Reason to Believe this!

For those of us who realize that we don't have a long time to wait for the beginning of the great tribulation, and then eventually the coming of Jesus, it may seem to us that it might be impossible for them to finish building this large of a city. However, that's even more reason to believe that this could be the real, end time city of Babylon! Genesis 11 indicates that the first city of Babylon was never finished! God destroyed it during their construction! It would be extremely appropriate for God to also destroy the end time city of Babylon during construction just like He did originally. The original destruction of the original and first Babylon, could be a major foreshadowing and clue of end time events!

The name "NEOM" comes from two words, Neo meaning new in Latin, and Mustaqbal meaning future in Arabic. Latin is the language of the Roman Catholic Church. Arabic is the language of the Muslim world. Saudi Arabia has several sea ports and continues to build more. Neom would greatly increase Saudi Arabia's worldwide trade & shipping. The Saudi royal family is extremely wealthy. They have already set aside the necessary $500 billion dollars for the NEOM project.

Saudi Arabia's Ability & Experience at Building New Cities

Riyadh is the capital and most populous city of Saudi Arabia. It is situated in the center of the Arabian Peninsula on a large plateau and home to more than six million people. So it's already a major center of business. Jeddah & Mecca are also already large centers of merchandise & money. Jeddah is the largest sea port on the Red Sea and has with a population of about 2.8 million people (as of 2017). Jeddah is Saudi Arabia's commercial capital & is also the gateway to Mecca.

Construction on Neom has already started by establishing some critical infrastructure, plus the already existing cities in the area would be integrated into the new metro region. Saudi Arabia has much experience at building modern cities very quickly and has already established 6 other cities in recent times. They had plans to launch six "economic cities" (e.g. King Abdullah Economic City, to be completed by 2020) in an effort to diversify the economy and provide jobs. By now, I believe that it's extremely likely that they have progressed on all 6 new urban cities. Another Reason To Believe This: False Prophets Were Slow to Report It!

The conspiracy theory websites with thousands and millions of followers are not yet picking up on this huge story! The false prophets usually are up and running with a new article within 5 minutes of any news that they could possibly use to proclaim their false prophecies. I have searched & searched and yet I could not yet find any false prophet conspiracy people claiming that this is Babylon. Usually whatever the truth is, the false prophets don't pick up on it. Usually it's mostly only the false theories and false teachings that they publish. So for no false prophet or conspiracy frantic to yet publish this, makes me believe it even more.

The following video proves the location of Mt. Sinai & where Moses & the Israelites traveled. Surely, due to the height of the mountain, they won't actually build upon the actual spot where Jesus gave the 10 Commandments to Moses. Seven (7) denotes God’s divine completion to His plan or purpose. Five (5) denotes Satanic influence of men and kings. God’s influence over men in greater than Satan’s influence over men 7>5. Notice that MBS will be the FIRST king who is NOT a direct son of founding King Ibn Saud in 1932. Becoming the 8th king, MBS represents a ‘new epoch’ a ‘new future’ for the kingdom that forms an ideological break from the past. Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Development Fund (TDF), in partnership with Riyad Bank, has launched the Tourism Partners program, allocating a funding capital of up to SR2 billion to enable the development of the kingdom’s ‘key’ (Neom) destinations.

The program is a first of its kind where public and private sector work collaboratively against individual performance indicators on each side, ensuring the highest standards of governance to achieve the objectives of the program, a statement said.

TDF introduced three products under the program that aim to address the financing needs of companies of all sizes in the private sector and enable the development of tourism facilities and activities across the kingdom.

Each product provides a value of funding ranging from SR1 million to more than SR100 million for mega projects, with options varying between direct support from TDF and co-financing with Riyad Bank, in addition to providing guarantees of up to 90 percent.

Tourism Partners complements the Shareek initiative launched by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to enhance the private sector’s role in the sustainable growth of the national economy.

Qusai Al-Fakhri, CEO of TDF said: “An attractive investment environment enhances investors’ appetite for tourism projects, which in turn helps drive the tourism sector. TDF’s primary role as the tourism investor’s partner is to provide financing solutions that overcome barriers to mobilise investments and help investors achieve their goals.

“Through this partnership, TDF paves the way for private companies, including small and medium-sized companies, to harness the massive opportunities in tourism.”

The program will enable the development of up to 1 (5+5) ‘13’ tourism projects across the kingdom, targeting seven destinations identified by the National Tourism Strategy.

Tareq A Al-Sadhan, CEO of Riyad Bank, said: “The Tourism Partners program aims to further strengthen the kingdom’s position as an investment and business hub, improving the kingdom’s position on global ease of doing business rankings.”

Relationship managers from Riyad Bank will promote the program to the bank’s client base to attract the largest amount of investment from the private sector towards value-added tourism projects.

The Tourism Development Fund was established to drive the growth of Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector, in line with the National Tourism Strategy to increase the GDP contribution of the tourism sector from 3 percent to 10 percent, as well as creating one million new jobs by 2030.

The Rise of the Sword of Islam

    Saudi Arabia is in the news a lot these days. It is a country that many people in the West do not understand or know very much about. Yet almost everybody knows that Saudi Arabia has lots and lots of oil. They also know that Saudi Arabia is a strict Islamic State that is the birthplace and home of the religion of Islam. And they also know that it is the home of a man known as Osama Bin Laden.

    For many centuries the Arabian Peninsula was little more than a vast dormant desert filled with nomadic tribes that were continually overrun by outside empires, such as Egypt and Turkey. But all of that changed with the conclusion of World War I and the emergence of the infamous House of Saud. Abdul Aziz Ibn Abdar-Rahman, better known as ‘Ibn Saud,’ and later as King Saud managed to consolidate the many tribes of the Arabian Peninsula and transformed the Arabian desert into the modern kingdom state of Saudi Arabia in 1932.

    But the Saudi Peninsula is a region that has a very long, mysterious and legendary history. The Arabian desert’s harsh climate has historically limited very much settlement or city building, and the few cities that flourished served as an Arabian crossroads for trade and commerce between the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf seaports. In the 7^th century, the Arabian dessert region fostered the beginning of the Muslim era when Muhammad organized his followers and launched a successful campaign to recapture Mecca. Soon thereafter Muhammad instituted the religion of Islam. Many Arab tribes joined Muhammad before his death in 632 and afterwards the Muslims continued their expansion across the Arabian Peninsula and into Syria, Mesopotamia (Iraq), Persia and westwards into Egypt and North Africa all the way to Spain. The Islamic sword also reached eastward, finally reaching Indonesia. The sword of Islam has become a major geo-political lynchpin throughout the world. 

   

The History of the Hashemites and the House of Saud

     The current Middle East crisis between the Israelis and the Arab world is the result of some of the most incredible blunders in history. Perhaps there is no greater blunder than some promises made by a British regional military commander to a bunch of backward camel-riding Arab Muslims from Western Arabia. Lt. Colonel T. E. Lawrence was sent by the British to recruit the enlistment of the help of the Arab Muslim tribes of the western Arabian region. The British needed them to act as irregular raiders against the eastern flank of the Ottoman Turkish army, thus helping the British Army to defeat them in the greater Middle East region during WWI. The principle tribe Lawrence enlisted was known as the Hashemites, who were then the guardians of the holy Muslim sites of Mecca and Medina, until the rise of Ibn Saud.

    T. E. Lawrence and his infamous treaty with the Hashemites would have been only an obscure and forgotten footnote in the British Middle East campaign of World War I if were not for the legends built up around the character, "Lawrence of Arabia."By the time the Treaty of Sevres was negotiated in 1920, the British felt compelled to keep Lawrence of Arabia's promise to the chieftains of an Arab tribe called the Hashemites. The political structure of the Middle East today is the result of that promise. The Treaty of Sevres permitted the British to seize pieces of the Ottoman Empire, which had ruled the Middle East for centuries, but had allied themselves with the Germans in WWI. Instead of British colonies, the Ottoman territories were called League of Nations' mandates, for which the British badly needed puppet rulers. Thus the expanded rise of the Hashemite Royal family of Arabia.

    Sir Lawrence of Arabia persuaded the British Crown to put together three provinces of the old Ottoman Empire and make one country called Iraq and give it to a Hashemite prince named Feisal. The people of these three provinces have hated each other for centuries, and that is still evidenced today as America attempts to forge a new democratic state in Iraq. Apart from a ruthless dictator like Saddam Hussein, no one has ever been able to mesh them together. Lawrence also was able to persuade the British to betray their mandate to create a homeland for the Jews. When the House of Saud drove the Hashemites out of Mecca and Medina, Lawrence persuaded the British to give Prince Abdullah the land mandated to the Jews known as Trans-Jordan as a consolation prize. (a ¾ betrayal of the Balfour Declaration) Today, Transjordan is today is known as the Royal Kingdom of Jordan. These events have helped set up a coming catastrophe that the Bible predicts someday will result in a global war against Israel. It is amazing what momentous prophetic events are set in motion by the interrelationships of nations and kings. But then, nothing of mans imaginations and schemes escapes God fore-knowledge.

The Cup and Sword that Intoxicates the Nations

    The Old Testament prophet Jeremiah prophesied about a “cup and a sword” that would be sent out to all the nations of the world in the Last Days, to intoxicate them into a madness, and bring them down against the city of Jerusalem. This “cup of fury” or “cup of trembling” (Isaiah 51:17) is God’s way of drawing a line in the sand, in defense of his Holy name, and of his Holy city. This cup of fury (filled with abominations) will cause the sword to be sent to all the powerful nations of the earth, and to geo-politically entice them into the great controversy over Zion, a controversy that is caused to swirl in the end-times by the Kings of Arabia, and the burdensome conflict over Israel.

   

    Jeremiah 25:15-17 For thus saith the Lord God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it. And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them. Then took I the cup at the Lord's hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the Lord had sent me:

In History and Geography 

  Askelon, Azzah, Ekron, and Ashdod were cities of ancient Philistia that make up today’s Palestine. Edom, Ammon and Moab were peoples of north and southern Idumaea that make up today’s kingdom of Jordan. Dedan was of Cush, or Northeastern Africa and Arabia, Tema, a son of Ishmael made up Egypt and Arabia, while Buz, a son of Nahor represented Mesopotamia. Zimri was an Arabian tribe that still represents the Arabian Peninsula. The Medes (Elam) make up today’s modern state of Iran, and Sheshak makes up Babylon. The kings of Tyrus and Zidon make up Lebanon. Uz was the son of Aram, and made up the land of Mt. Seir, and a nation of people that hated Israel.

 

The Wine Cup

    But it is Jerusalem that is the wine cup of God’s fury. It is a cup of fury that has been filling up for centuries! Jerusalem is the city chosen by Jehovah for his name, and yet Israel became enamored of the gods about her and abandoned Jehovah and allowed the holy city to become a harlot. Therefore God has allowed Jerusalem to be trodden down not only of Gentile rulers, but also of pagan gods. Allah (Islam) has laid a claim not only upon Mecca and Medina (Arabia) but also upon Jerusalem, making Jerusalem the bone of contention and controversy between Islam, Judaism, and Christianity.

    Utilizing the prophet Jeremiah, God is forecasting the 70 year subjection of Israel known as the Babylonian Captivity, but the prophecy peers far out beyond that era to a later time when God would permit (send) a sword from the Arabian lands to the powers in the north, far and near, even unto the kings of the whole earth to entice them into the Valley of Decision scenario depicted by Joel, and the event that we modern eschatologists refer to as Armageddon. (Zechariah 122-3; Joel 3:14; Revelation 16:14-19, 19:18-19) That sword is shown as having its rise in Arabia, among the descendants of the ancient tribes mentioned in verses 18-24. These kings and lands make up modern states of Palestine, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Syria, and the whole of the Arabian Peninsula. That sword is likely interpreted to be the religion of fundamentalist Islam. Islam is symbolized world-wide by the sword, and most nations under Islam utilize the sword as its banner.

  

The Crafty Counsel of the Arabs

    Psalms 83:1-8 Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God. For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head. They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones. They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance. For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee: The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes; Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre; Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. 

 

    While these are all various ancient names, today they comprise the modern Arab states. For instance, in verse 6, Edom was in southern Jordan; Ishmael was the father of the Ishmaelites, one segment of the Arab world; Moab was in central Jordan; the Hagarenes were from Egypt. In verse 7, Gebal was up in Lebanon; Ammon was northern Jordan; Amalek was in the Sinai Peninsula; Philistia was in the Gaza Strip; Tyre was up in Lebanon. In verse 8, Assyria comprises all of what is today Iraq and quite a bit of Syria. Only since 1948 have all these nations combined forces against Israel. Such a total Arab alignment never occurred in ancient times. After the Six Day War of 1967, one Arab leader after another has clearly stated that the only way of gaining peace in the Middle East is by the total annihilation of Israel as a nation.

 

A Prophecy Concerning Ishmael

   Ishmael is often depicted as being the father of the Arab world. Ishmael was of course a son of Abraham (as was Isaac through Sarah) Ishmael’s mother was an Egyptian, making Ishmael half Egyptian and a half Semite of the House of Abraham. The descendants of Ishamel, along with Esau, and Edom made up much of the Arab world. Kedar, Hazor, Dedan, Sheba, Raamah (Ezekiel 27) were later Arabian merchants.

 

   Genesis 16:12 And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

 

   The first prophecy concerning Ishmael is that "he would be a wild ass among men." In Abraham’s day, there were packs of wild asses that roamed the desert. Ishmael and his descendants are characterized as being similar to these wild asses. Secondly, "his hand shall be against every man." The second characteristic of Ishmael was that of aggression. He would be against every man, attacking those with whom he has contact. Thirdly, "every man’s hand shall be against him." As he displayed aggression, he would bring upon himself retaliation. We have certainly seen this principle to be true in the History of Israel since 1948. On various occasions the Arab states have been aggressors against Israel, either by means of military conflict or terrorist action. This always nearly elicited some kind of Israeli response and/or retaliation in fulfillment of this prophecy. Fourthly, "he shall dwell over against his brother." The expression "dwell over against" is a Hebrew idiom meaning to dwell in a state of hostility. He would live side by side with his brother, but side by side in a state of hostility, as is the state of the Arab/Jewish situation today.

The Sword of Fury Arises

    The towns of Mecca and Medina, both of which were thriving cultural and commercial center before and after Muhammad, are the holiest cities of Islam and the Saudi Royal kingdom today takes and holds the responsibility for protecting their integrity with the utmost seriousness. They have been outposts of commerce between traveling caravans and empires for centuries. More importantly, however is the fact that these Arabian cities came to be the birthplace of Islam, the religion of the sword.

    Arabia was absorbed into the Turkish Ottoman Empire during the 16th century, after the capture of Mecca by the Turks in 1517, but subsequent local rulers were allowed a great deal of autonomy. Under Turkish supervision, successive Sherifs of Mecca governed the territory of the Hijaz, (the western part of the Arabian Peninsula including the Red Sea coast as far south as Yemen) until the onset of World War I.

     In 1914 the British armed forces Chief Lord Kitchener offered the Sharif of Mecca a deal under which Hijaz would acquire independence, guaranteed by the UK, on condition that the Sharif supported the military campaign against the Turks. The Sharif accepted, and after the Turkish defeat, the Kingdom of Hijaz was recognized as independent at the 1920 Treaty of Sèvres. However, on the other side of the peninsula, (east of the Hijaz) the leading potentate was Abdul Aziz Ibn Abdar-Rahman, better known as ‘Ibn Saud,’ the ruler of the province of Najd. In 1915, the government of India, then under British rule, recognized Najd and some other territories along the Persian Gulf as possessions of Ibn Saud. Throughout the 1920s, military clashes between Ibn Saud’s troops and forces loyal to the Hashemite King of Hijaz, Hussein, grew more frequent as the decisive struggle for control of the Arabian peninsula took place.

      The British and other Western powers switched their support between the two sides as it suited them. Eventually, Ibn Saud finally pushed out the Hashemites altogether, and in 1926 he was recognized as the ruler of the Kingdoms of Hijaz and Najd. In 1932 this became the United Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Hashemites, now dispossessed of Mecca and Median were consoled with the thrones of Iraq and Transjordan (later Jordan). Then in 1933 something else happened that would change the world for good. The first explorations began for oil and vast deposits were discovered in the eastern part of the country. This set Saudi Arabia on the road to its current economic prosperity, and its elite position as oil distributor to the whole world.

   Ibn Saud’s descendants comprise the dynasty which has ruled Saudi Arabia since 1932. They like most Saudis, are adherents to the strict Wahhabi sect of Islam, which subscribes to Sunni Muslim doctrine, and its Islamic laws are strictly enforced by the mutawwa (religious police). The oil search of the 1930s brought the USA into contact with Saudi Arabia for the first time in history. America quickly became the House of Saud’s principal Western ally.

    Nonetheless, there is one issue on which Saudi Arabian and US policies are implacably opposed, and that issue is Israel. Washington’s consistent and traditional support for the Jewish State has been a constant source of friction for Saudi Arabia. This became spectacularly clear in 1973 when Saudi Arabia and Iran, two of the USA’s staunchest allies in the region, led the OPEC cartel in trumping up the price of oil overnight in response to America’s support for Israel during the 1973 Yom Kippur War.

     The mid-70’s period of cool relations between Saudi Arabia and the US was eased somewhat with the fall of the Shah and the revolution of fundamentalist Islam in Iran under Ayatollah Khomeini in 1979. Iran was perceived to pose a threat to Saudi Arabia for a number of reasons: the Shia branch of Islam followed by the Iranian mullahs is fundamentally opposed to the Sunni Wahhabi interpretation of Islam which prevails in Saudi Arabia under the House of Saud. Moreover, Iran is an important strategic force in the Gulf in its own right. For those reasons, as well as Arab solidarity, Saudi Arabia provided massive financial support, to the tune of over US$100 million to Saddam Hussein’s regime during the Iran–Iraq war, which lasted most of the decade of the 1980s. The Saudis were thus astonished in 1991 when, following the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, Saddam’s forces seemed to be poised to strike south and occupy parts of Saudi Arabia. After initial doubts and furious debates within the royal family, the US-led UN coalition was authorized to base its forces in the country prior to the ‘Desert Storm’ military operation which Iraq out of Kuwait. After the expulsion of the Iraqis from Kuwait, the Saudis backed the US policy of ‘dual containment’ designed to keep both Iran and Iraq in check. US forces have remained in the country ever since, in what has become a very sensitive political issue, and which would later became a point of contention for Osama Bin Laden.

     As the turn of the second millennium drew near, the House of Saud was gradually becoming more and more disillusioned with the US dual containment strategy in the Middle East. In particular they grew leery of US hostility towards the Shiite Republic of Iran with whom they attempted to develop closer relations, especially since both nations held interests over practical issues such as OPEC oil pricing. Second, there was growing internal dissent over the continuing presence of US bases on Saudi territory: this is one of the key complaints of the Al-Qaeda organization which carried out the ‘9-11’ atrocities in the USA (the majority of the members of the 20-strong hijacking team were Saudi nationals). Third, since 1995, the health of King Fahd has grown steadily worse: he is now an invalid, and the country is under the effective control of Crown Prince Abdullah who is generally more skeptical of western policies in the region than King Fahd. In late 2002, faced with continued Saudi prevarication over the issue, the Americans moved their main Gulf command center to Qatar, and the 2003 war on Iraq and Saddam Hussein was directed from there.

    As the main arbiter of world oil prices, by virtue of being the largest OPEC producer, the Saudis are also subject to strong international pressure to keep a lid on prices. Saudi Arabia’s political future is unstable and uncertain, and that fact is a huge factor in the confidence of the great oil-consuming (US) economies. Crown Prince Abdullah belongs to a generation of leaders who have governed Saudi Arabia since the death of Abdul Aziz, all of whom are now in their seventies. Hence there is no clear line of succession and there may develop a debilitating power struggle among the 6000 male descendants who now make up the House of Saud, something Al Qaeda is keen on using for its benefit. The most likely victors are the branch of the family descended from one of Ibn Saud’s wives, bint Sudairi, who forms a powerful clan within the clan (commonly known as the ‘Sudairi Seven’). Abdullah is not among them, but all occupy key ministerial, administrative and diplomatic posts throughout Saudi Arabia.

      In 2002, the United States was Saudi Arabia’s top trade partner, with 18.7 percent of its exports going to America and 11.2 percent of Saudi imports coming from the United States. About 17 percent of US oil imports annually came from Saudi Arabia. With its strong infrastructure, the kingdom is also best poised to expand oil production should disruptions occur in other parts of the world, such as when Venezuelan workers went on strike earlier this year. "Saudi Arabia is likely to remain the world's largest oil producer for the foreseeable future," the Department of Energy's Energy Information Administration states in energy report. Saudi Arabia is eager to maintain and even expand its market share in the United States for a variety of economic and strategic reasons. The Saudi royal family often uses its oil revenues to buy protection from the more extreme elements in Saudi society, and it usually looks to the US for military hardware or security alliances. Even a temporary disruption to US demands on the Saudi oil supply could result in serious instability and jeopardize the royal family's political status, and also affect America’s position in the oil rich Arabian Peninsula. 

 

A Whirlwind from the Coasts of the Earth

 

    Jeremiah 25:31-32 A noise shall come even unto the ends of the earth, for the Lord hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the Lord. Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.

 

    Might it be that the United States is the great whirlwind that is raised from the coasts of the earth? The US is known by the geographic euphemisms of the East Coast and the West Coast. The vast majority of America’s population and industrial-technical base is located along its coastal regions, including cities such as New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Baltimore, San Francisco, Houston, San Diego, Seattle-Tacoma, New Orleans, Tampa-Miami, and on and one the list goes. Then still other US cities lie with river access to coastal outlets such as Detroit, Chicago, and St. Louis. Truly, America is a coastal power, with the greatest naval armada in the history of nations.

   Also, America is a seacoast super-power that is greatly and logistically distanced from the region of the Middle East. No other present national power could be described in the fashion depicted by Jeremiah for the Last Days, as “one that comes to the Mid-east region from the far-away coasts” of the earth. This prophecy has unique implications given the fact that the US has the history with Saudi Arabia that it has had for the last seven decades since the discovery of oil in the Arabian dessert. In light of America’s current economic-geo-political involvement in Iraq, and the Middle East it would seem that the coastal whirlwind so described by Jeremiah is already beginning to blow, and may be gathering steam for the prophesied scenario in Jeremiah 25:33.

 

The Saudi Arabia-US Alliance is Shaky

    The infamous Saudi-US alliance came about as a result of the discovery of large reserves of oil in the Arabian dessert region in 1935. The US is the world’s largest consumer of oil while the Saudi kingdom is the world’s largest oil exporter. These two factors lie at the heart of the shaky and often quarrelsome alliance between the two nations. The Standard Oil Company discovered oil in the Saudi kingdom in 1936, and commercial oil production began during World War II. The oil reserves, nearly 1/3 of the world’s known reserves, allowed the Saudi kingdom to become very wealthy. Saudi Arabia was neutral until nearly the end of WWII, and it was permitted to be a charter member of the United Nations in 1945. The country joined also the Arab League in 1945 and took part in the 1948–1949 war of extermination against Israel. Saudi Arabia still to this day does not recognize the state of Israel.

     But there often comes a time in the history of relations with every oppressive state when the need for change is suddenly and widely understood to be imperative. The US is obviously approaching that point in its relationship with Saudi Arabia. Inevitably, in the affairs between nations an incident occurs that undermines the legitimacy of the alliance. For the US and Saudi Arabia, such an incident might have occurred on September 11, 2001. Indeed, the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon by 19 terrorists, 15 of whom were Saudi subjects, did as much to subvert the authority of the Saudi monarchy at home as it did to warn the world of the menace of Arabic Wahhabism, the totalitarian form of Islam that inspires al Qaeda and is the Saudi kingdom's state religion. The same event, of course, also made obvious the need for the United States to alter its cozy relationship with the Saudi monarchy, and to seek strategic modifications. Rudely awakened by the 9-11 blow, Americans who cared to follow news from the kingdom have been able to learn a great deal. In early 2002, there was the revelation that the Saudi government openly funds, and continues to fund "martyrdom," including suicide bombings in the Palestinian confrontation with Israel; and it has done so to the tune of $400 million in 2001 alone. International investigation of terrorist financing has confirmed the role of Saudi-backed Islamic charities in such terror-related activities, including inside the United States. Saudi authorities repeatedly affirm their commitment to the war on terror, but continue to fail to deliver on promises to shut down terror-funding charities and apprehend rich supporters of al Qaeda inside the Saudi kingdom. And how can they, seeing as how the State religion of Wahibism teaches terrorist ideals.

    Another shaky factor in the US-Saudi alliance is the recent liberation of Iraq, and the specter most terrifying for the House of Saud, is that of a Western-oriented, proto-democratic regime on Saudi Arabia's long northern border. Such an Iraq would almost assuredly be led by Shia Muslims, whom the Wahhabis view about as favorable as the Nazis viewed the Jews. The US-Saudi relationship is unique in our history, and redefining it in the light of what Americans now know about terrorism, Wahhabism, 9-11, and Saudi kingdom’s hatred of Israel is very serious business.  

    The first task before any future presidential administration remains what it was on September 12: to obtain a full and transparent accounting of Saudi involvement in 9/11, no matter how high it reaches into ruling circles. Saudi Arabia is a country that sponsored the Taliban regime of Afghanistan. It is the country that bans any form of Jewish or Christian worship, even in the privacy of individual homes. The Saudis have a history of stonewalling U.S. anti-terror efforts going back to the Khobar Towers in 1996. Indeed, Saudi Arabia is among, if not the largest, states that support terrorism in the world. The Saudi royal family fears Wahabbi Islam a lot more than it does the West and has been financing militant Wahabbis, who finance terror for years. The Saudis no longer fear Iraq. Saudi Arabia is America's largest arms customer, $39 billion since the Gulf War, and the Russians would be only too happy to step in and assume any unfulfilled defense contracts. On the other hand, America imported 1.7 million barrels of Saudi oil per day last year. Crown Prince Abdullah castigated the US for supporting the Israelis in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. According to Prince Abdullah, America's failure to interfere on Yasser Arafat's behalf is "indefensible," saying Israel is the reason for suicide bombings, suggesting that Israeli checkpoints, retaliatory strikes, incursions and gunfights are the cause of Palestinian suicide attacks, rather than being the result of them. The oil rich Middle East countries use their oil reserves and market share-production as a political lever to influence America to stop supporting Israel’s right to exist, and to force American diplomats to coerce Israel into false peace deals.

 

    Saudi Arabia has drafted a strategic plan that envisions the end of a US military umbrella over the kingdom and the procurement of nuclear weapons. Western intelligence sources said that the Saudi leadership has begun seriously considering the option of acquiring or developing its own nuclear weapons. Saudi rulers believe that nuclear weapons are required to save the Saudi regime from Iran, (remember the Persia-Russia alliance from Ezekiel 38:5) and its Shiite brand of Islam, and from bands of thugs such as Al Qaeda, which many in the Royal family see as being an unwitting tool of the Zionists.

    In fact, Saudi Arabia may be America’s worst enemy. American leaders are being foolish and are deceived to think that we can have any kind of stable and secure relations with a nation made up of Wahabis, the sect of Islam that is the most deadly in funding and carrying out the kind of

terrorism that attacked our country on 9/11. But one presidential administration after another shields this dark-side image of Saudi Arabia due to political correctness, cheap oil, and the current alliance mantra: She is assisting us in our war on terror. Thus she is excluded from the “axis of evil” nations and continues being wined and dined in America as her leaders visit and display false admiration and respect for us. But the fact is that both pre and post 9/11, Arabia did nothing to expose the threat against us. Arabia helped finance the 9/11 attack on us and also finances the Arafat-Palestinian terrorists against Israel. The Saudi record against us has been consistent, starting with the oil boycotts of the 1970’s. Yet we repeatedly, for the sake of cheap gasoline, and continued motoring, look the other way on these matters.

    The FBI and the CIA have demanded total transparency from the Saudi Arabians in the light of their double game: contributing, on the one hand, millions of dollars in "charity" not only to Hamas but also to other extremist organizations in their country, while at the same time ostensibly supporting the US in its war against terror. For these reasons, Crown Prince Abdullah sponsored a Saudi initiative holding out an illusory solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Saudi "peace plan" was based on an Israeli withdrawal to the 1967 borders, after which Saudi Arabia would participate in achieving peace between Israel and the Palestinians, and the Arab countries in general. In reality the Saudis were trying to divert attention away from their responsibilities for Islamic Jihad terror and focus it on the Israeli-Palestinian dispute. In the spring of 2002 the State Department was looking for a way to get Israel to make concessions to long-time Saudi ally Yasser Arafat, and accusing Israel of "rejecting the Saudi peace initiative" was a lot easier than confronting the Saudi terrorist-hothouse. It is now clear that the Saudi initiative was simple political duplicity. In any case it didn't help the royal house and it proves something is rotten in the Arabian desert kingdom. The Saudi’s often refer to the “wedge” when talking about America’s war on terror and the Israel-Palestinian Conflict. The Wedge is diplomatic double speak about the conspiracy of the terrorists to drive a wedge between the US and the Saudi Kingdom.

 

Ezekiel’s Prophecy Concerning Arabia

    Ezekiel 38 and 39 probably is referring to the Saudi kingdom in his prophecy about the Russian invasion of Israel. Ezekiel 38:13 pictures Sheba and Dedan asking of Russia; (Ezekiel 38:13 Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?) Very clearly, the American umbrella of protection-alliance for Saudi Arabia has been removed at this later point in history! (late-tribulation)

 

    Ezekiel 38:8-13 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, (Israel) and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them. Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee. Thus saith the Lord God; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought: (nuclear war?) And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land. Sheba, and Dedan, (Saudi Arabia) and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? (oil perhaps?) hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?

 

    

The Sword of Wahabism in Saudi Arabia

    The first great modern expression of the awakening of the Arab Islam in the 18th century which inspired many political-religious movements fighting against Turkish domination and the influence of the European powers. Its founder, Mohamed Ibn Abd-al-Wahab, was born in 1703 near Riyadh. He preached an uncompromising Islam, casting out all the precepts after the third century of Hegira and interpreting the Quran in its most severe form. Rising up against the loosening of moral standards and foreign influences, he converted Mohamad Ibn-Saud, from Dehriya, who quickly established himself as the monarch of the Nedj. His successors conquered the greatest part of what is today Saudi Arabia. Opposed to any form of idolatry, they destroyed the shrines of Kerbala (Shiite city in Iraq where US forces have recently met stiff resistance by the Shiite cleric Al Sadr, June, 2004) in 1802, of Mecca in 1803 and of Medina in 1805. They were however defeated in 1811 by the army of the Egyptian Ottoman ruler Mehemed Ali who acted on behalf of Turkey and were equipped with European weapons. As a result the Holy cities of Mecca and Medina came under Turkish-Ottoman rule.

    Relying on “warrior-preachers”, known as Ikhwans, ("Brothers" in Arabic) Wahabism remained a thriving force in the center of the peninsula, the conquest of which it assumed at the beginning of the 20th century under the leadership of future King Ibn Saud. (House of Saud) After Hedjaz and the Holy cities of Mecca and Medina were subjugated, which drove the Hashemite family into exile, the Wahabi movement led to the 1932 creation of the Kingdom of  Saudi Arabia.

 

King Ibn Saud (1882–1953)

 

The 20^th Century History of the House of Saud

    In 1902, Abdul Aziz recaptured Riyadh, the Al-Saud dynasty's ancestral capital, from the rival Al-Rashid family. Continuing his conquests, Abdul Aziz subdued Al-Hasa, the rest of Nejd, and the Hijaz between 1913 and 1926. In 1932, these regions were unified as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Boundaries with Jordan, Iraq, and Kuwait were established by a series of treaties negotiated in the 1920s, with two "neutral zones," one with Iraq and the other with Kuwait created. The Saudi-Kuwaiti neutral zone was administratively partitioned in 1971, with each state continuing to share the petroleum resources of the former zone equally. Tentative agreement on the partition of the Saudi-Iraqi neutral zone was reached in 1981, and partition was finalized by 1983. The country's southern boundary with Yemen was partially defined by the 1934 Treaty of Taif, which ended a brief border war between the two states. A June 2000 treaty further delineated portions of the boundary with Yemen. The location and status of Saudi Arabia's boundary with the United Arab Emirates is not final; a defacto boundary reflects a 1974 agreement. The border between Saudi Arabia and Qatar was resolved in March 2001. The border with Oman also is not demarcated.

   King Abdul Aziz died in 1953 and was succeeded by his eldest son, Saud, who reigned for 11 years. In 1964, Saud abdicated in favor of his half-brother, Faisal, who had served as Foreign Minister. Because of fiscal difficulties, King Saud had been persuaded in 1958 to delegate direct conduct of Saudi Government affairs to Faisal as Prime Minister; Saud briefly regained control of the government in 1960-62. In October 1962, Faisal outlined a broad reform program, stressing economic development. Faisal was proclaimed King of Saudi Arabia in 1964 by senior royal family members and religious leaders.

   The mid-1960s saw external pressures generated by Saudi-Egyptian differences over Yemen. When civil war broke out in 1962 between Yemeni royalists and republicans, Egyptian forces entered Yemen to support the new republican government, while Saudi Arabia backed the royalists. Tensions subsided only after 1967, when Egypt withdrew its troops from Yemen. Saudi forces did not participate in the Six-Day (Arab-Israeli) War of June 1967, but the government later provided annual subsidies to Egypt, Jordan, and Syria to support their economies. During the 1973 Arab-Israeli war, Saudi Arabia participated in the Arab oil boycott of the United States and Netherlands. A member of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Saudi Arabia had joined other member countries in moderate oil price increases beginning in 1971. After the 1973 war, the price of oil rose substantially, dramatically increasing Saudi Arabia's wealth and political influence.

    In 1975, King Faisal was assassinated by a nephew, who was executed after an extensive investigation concluded that he acted alone. Faisal was succeeded by his half-brother Khalid as King and Prime Minister; their half-brother Prince Fahd was named Crown Prince and First Deputy Prime Minister. King Khalid empowered Crown Prince Fahd to oversee many aspects of the government's international and domestic affairs. Economic development continued rapidly under King Khalid, and the kingdom assumed a more influential role in regional politics and international economic and financial matters.

   In June 1982, King Khalid died, and Fahd became King and Prime Minister in a smooth transition. Another half-brother, Prince Abdullah, Commander of the Saudi National Guard, was named Crown Prince and First Deputy Prime Minister. King Fahd's brother, Prince Sultan, the Minister of Defense and Aviation, became Second Deputy Prime Minister. Under King Fahd, the Saudi economy adjusted to sharply lower oil revenues resulting from declining global oil prices. Saudi Arabia supported neutral shipping in the Gulf during periods of the Iran-Iraq war and aided Iraq's war-strained economy. King Fahd played a major part in bringing about the August 1988 cease-fire between Iraq and Iran and in organizing and strengthening the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), a group of six Arabian Gulf states dedicated to fostering regional economic cooperation and peaceful development.

     In 1990-91, King Fahd played a key role before and during the Gulf war. King Fahd's action also consolidated the coalition of forces against Iraq and helped define the tone of the operation as a multilateral effort to reestablish the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Kuwait. Acting as a rallying point and personal spokesman for the coalition, King Fahd helped bring together his nation's GCC allies, Western allies, and Arab allies, as well as nonaligned nations from Africa and the emerging democracies of eastern Europe. He used his influence as Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to persuade other Arab and Islamic nations to join the coalition.

     King Fahd suffered a stroke in November 1995. Since 1997, Crown Prince Abdullah has taken on much of the day-to-day responsibilities of running the government. Saudi Arabia is a monarchy ruled by the sons and grandsons of King Abd Al Aziz Al Saud, and that the Holy Qur'an is the constitution of the country, which is governed on the basis of Islamic law (Shari'a). There are no political parties or national elections. The king's powers are limited because he must observe the Shari'a and other Saudi traditions. He also must retain a consensus of the Saudi royal family, religious leaders (ulema), and other important elements in Saudi society. The leading members of the royal family choose the king from among themselves with the subsequent approval of the ulema. The kingdom is divided into 13 provinces governed by princes or close relatives of the royal family.

 

 

Arabia and the Influence of OPEC

    The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is a permanent, intergovernmental Organization, created at the Baghdad Conference in 1960, by Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. The five Founding Members were later joined by eight other Members: Qatar (1961); Indonesia (1962); Socialist Peoples Libyan Arab Jamahiriya (1962); United Arab Emirates (1967); Algeria (1969); Nigeria (1971); Ecuador (1973–1992) and Gabon (1975–1994). OPEC had its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, in the first five years of its existence. The headquarters was later moved to Vienna, Austria, on September 1, 1965. OPEC rose to international prominence during the 1970’s as its Member Countries, and especially Saudi Arabia took control of their domestic petroleum industries and acquired a major say in the pricing of crude oil on world markets. Saudi Arabia continues to play the major influence on OPEC decisions. There were two oil pricing crises triggered by the Saudi promoted Arab oil embargo in 1973 and during the outbreak of the Iranian Revolution in 1979.

    OPEC stands the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries. It has a lot of influence on the world economy and upon world affairs. Saudi Arabia and the smaller, oil-rich Arab states on the Persian Gulf, fearful that they might become Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini's next targets if Iran conquered Iraq, made large financial contributions to the Iraqi war effort during the 1980s. At the same time, cheating by other members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), competition from nonmember oil producers, and conservation efforts by consuming nations combined to drive down the world price of oil. Saudi Arabia has one-third of all known oil reserves, but falling demand and rising production outside OPEC combined to reduce its oil revenues from $120 billion in 1980 to less than $25 billion in 1985, threatening the country with domestic unrest and undermining its influence in the Gulf area.

    At the start of 1996, King Fahd passed authority to Crown Prince Abdullah. In 1998 the House of Saud's oil income fell by 40% because of a worldwide decline in prices, and it entered its first recession in 6 years. In 2000, Saudi Arabia, along with other OPEC nations experiencing a recession, decided to reduce production to raise oil prices. In 2001, OPEC cut oil production three additional times. Saudi Arabia's relations with the U.S. were strained after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, as 15 of the suicide bombers and 100 of the 150 captured Al Qaeda militants in Afghanistan were Saudis. Despite the monarchy's close ties to the West, much of the extremely influential religious establishment has supported anti-Americanism and Islamic militancy.

   In March 2002, Crown Prince Abdullah of Saudi Arabia offered a Middle East peace plan at the annual Arab summit: all Arab governments would offer “normal relations and the security of Israel in exchange for a full Israeli withdrawal from all occupied Arab lands, recognition of an independent Palestinian state with noble Jerusalem as its capital, and the return of the Palestinian refugees.” This was an extraordinary offer because it promised the backing of the entire Arab world. The Saudi plan nevertheless seemed unrealistic in the concessions it expected from Israel. And without a cease-fire in Israel’s ongoing terrorist war with Yasser Arafat, much less an agreement to negotiate between the Israelis and Palestinians, the plan languished, but has since been largely incorporated into the Quartet sponsored Roadmap Plan. 

   In August of 2003, following the U.S.-led war on Iraq in March and April 2003, the United States withdrew its troops stationed in Saudi Arabia, due to political pressure from the Saudi’s. The U.S. had maintained troops in the country for the previous decade, a source of great controversy in the strongly conservative Islamic country. One of the major reasons for the Sept. 11 attacks, according to Saudi terrorist Osama bin Laden, was the presence of U.S. troops in the home of Islam's holiest sites, Medina and Mecca. On May 12, suicide bombers killed 34, including 8 Americans, at housing compounds for Westerners in Riyadh. Al-Qaeda was suspected. Saudi Arabia's commitment to antiterrorist measures was again called into question by the US and other countries. In July, the U.S. Congress bitterly criticized Saudi Arabia's alleged financing of terrorist organizations and for harboring a civil servant who had ties to two of the September 11 hijackers. While the Saudi government has arrested a sizeable number of suspected terrorists in the past year, it remains a hotbed of Islamic militancy, and is constantly a target of Al Qaeda extremists who wish to drive a permanent wedge between the Saudi-US alliance.

    Through the 1950s, the Saudi government built its infrastructure around the oil industry, and the wealth of the region grew exponentially. The Saudi royal family spared no expense in building up their kingdom and their own personal international portfolio’s. One enterprising young construction magnate who played a critical role in this early development and expansion was an enterprising man named Muhammad Awad bin Laden, who became one of the wealthiest men in the world as a result. Muhammad bin Laden crafted intimate ties with the royal family, and as they built the Saudi empire together; bin Laden became a hero of the state and a powerful dealer in Arab-Muslim influences. In 1955, he had his 17th son, a boy named Osama bin Laden, a development which was an event that didn't seem particularly important at the time, but September 11^th and a group called Al Qaeda changed all that.

 

The Saudi-Iraq Connections

    To begin to get a grasp on what the current trouble in Iraq is all about, the Saudi connection cannot be overlooked. Iraq was created by the British in 1921 after World War I, has been a fountain for Arab nationalist distaste for the creation of a Jewish homeland since the day Iraq was created. When Winston Churchill was Secretary for the British colonies in 1921, he helped out in creating the modern States of Iraq, Jordan and Palestine. Palestine, as it was presented under the Balfour Declaration was intended to be in its entirety a homeland for Jewish people under British Mandate. Great Britain decided to carve out the present borders of Iraq and Jordan and hand them over to a couple of handpicked kings, Abdul and Feisal, the sons of the Sharif of Mecca.

   The British Mandate resulted in a June 14, 1921 announcement "to set up Arab governments”, in the new kingdoms and to have them take the responsibility in their respective regions, while maintaining friendly relations with Great Britain, and at the same time reducing the burden on the British Crown.

    Today, President Bush's concept of what is needed to reshape and stabilize the Middle East, (under the Bush Doctrine) particularly as it pertains to Iraq, is essentially the same as Winston Churchill's was back in the 1920’s. Palestine however, now severely partitioned into Israel and a projected new State of Palestine remains the volatile flash-point to the Middle East sceanrio. The problem, then as now, is that Arab nationalism, coupled with recent rise of (1979-present) Islam fundamentalism constantly threatens to overtake the European dream of a stable, cooperative Middle East tuned to Western sensibilities (EU concept) and willing to live peacefully with a Jewish State in its midst. (a purely American concept) Thus the EU and the US are constantly bickering with each other over the formula for extracting a peace and safety net across the Middle East. Had it not been for the unforeseen rise and rebirth of the modern State of Israel right in the middle of the 20^th century, (right on the doorstep of the Islamic-Arab world) perhaps the West could have realized a bilateral superpower alliance with the Arab world that would have assured utopia. Back in Churchill's era, radical Islamic Wahabi tribes ruled by a desert Sheik named Bin Saud caused trouble for the British vision. After incessant warfare with his rivals, Saud prevailed and the kingdom of Saudi Arabia was born. That country continues to this day to be the most determined promoter of an extreme form of Islam that is virulently anti-Semitic. Wahhabism, then and now, is at the heart of the Arab nationalist resistance to foreign influence, and is the basis for the rise of militant anti-US Islamic terrorist organizations such as Al Qaeda. The primary reason these groups hate America as opposed to European is simply the traditional American Judeo-Christian support for Israel. It is at the heart of Osama bin Laden's crusade to get wedge the House of Saud from its eco-security alliance with the US, who he believes have sold out to the Americans without gaining geo-political assurances against Israel.

   With the break up of the Turkish Ottoman Empire that had ruled the Middle East for over 400 years, the Allied powers, consisting primarily of Great Britain, France and Italy, carved up the Middle East into the present Arab nation-states. The new borders that they carved out were oblivious to the ancient tribal lands, and this factor continues to fester and cause civil strife. For example, as an after thought they sought to come back and carve out a place for Kurdistan. But with the rise of the Turkish military under Kemal Ataturk, the Treaty of Sevres (1920), which called for creation of Kurdistan, left the Kurds a people without a country.

    This was the beginning of a long bloody persecution of the Kurds by the Turks, Syrians, Iraqis and Iranians. They all fear a united Kurdistan. The Kurds are natural warriors. Because of this, the Kurds have been relentlessly persecuted, suppressed and rejected as citizens by the nations that sit astride their ancient homelands. Hundreds of thousands of them have been slaughtered.

 

The Drunken Madness of the Sword leads to Armageddon

 

     The Lord God has declared that he will cause every nation to drink from the cup of his fury. In fact, whether the nations want to be involved in the controversy of Jerusalem or not, they are going to find that because of economics, religion and politics and international globalization that they cannot constrain themselves from being burdened with the evil designs the world has upon Israel and the city of Jerusalem.

    Jeremiah 25 concludes with the Armageddon scenario that is repeated in Revelation 14:14-20. It is that great Day of the Lord event when Jesus Christ shall roar as a lion from on high and appear on the horizon of Jerusalem’s eastern perimeter to trample the armies of the world that are gathered together around Jerusalem.

 

    Jeremiah 25:27-30 Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you. And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink. For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the Lord of hosts. Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The Lord shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.

 

   Jeremiah 25:31 A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the Lord hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the Lord.

 

     Islamic Fundamentalism has targeted two nations as their most hated enemy, Israel and the United States. They see the United States as the leader of Judeo-Christian culture, which in their view is the greatest threat to Islam.

    The history of the Arab peoples, the rise of Islam, the hostility they have maintained toward the Jews, and the present contention over the land of Israel and the city of Jerusalem, all prove that the Bible is true and that we are in the very last days of the end time.

    Since America and the West of the last days must be ruled and led by the revived Roman culture of Europe, the United States must fade from power. It is on this basis that I see the Islamic world as the main force that will cause the demise of the US as the leader of the Western sphere of world power. Islamic terrorists now have the ability to destroy our economy and moral and social infrastructures, and in the process take tens of thousands of lives. No wonder President Bush so often says, “the war on terror is a war we must win”. On Sept. 20, 2001, President Bush speaking to the nation before a joint session of the Congress stated: "We will starve the terrorists of funding, turn them one against another, drive them from place to place, until there is no refuge or no rest. And we will pursue nations that provide aid or safe haven to terrorism. Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists." The President paused, drew a deep breath, and told the Congress, the country and the world, "From this day forward, any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime."

  

 

Saudi Arabia (King of the South?)

 

    Many people automatically assume that the King of the South will once again be Egypt, as it was in the first century, but I submit to you the strong likelihood that the Last Days Armageddon

King of the south depicted in the prophecies of Daniel will be the King of Mecca and Islamic progenitor.

 

    Daniel 11:40 And at the time of the end shall the “king of the south” (Saudi Arabia) push at him: (Antichrist) and the king of the north (Russia) shall come against him (Antichrist) like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.

 
    Daniel 11:41-43 He (Antichrist) shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon. (Jordan--kingdom of the Hashemites) He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps. (Libya and Ethiopia represent the southern flank of the Russia-Persia alliance in Ezekiel 38 and 39)

1. Warning to Dedan (Saudis) to not support Edom (Palestinians) in their Arab confederacy that wars against Israel.

Judgment on Edom

“Against Edom. Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Is wisdom no more in Teman? Has counsel perished from the prudent? Has their wisdom vanished? Flee, turn back, dwell in the depths, O inhabitants of Dedan! For I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, The time that I will punish him.” (Jeremiah 49:7-8)

Prophecies of Russia’s involvement in pivotal wars associated with apocalyptic times are prominent in Biblical literature. Ezekiel’s vision of “Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal” (Ezekiel 38:2) denotes a ruthless leader and his people who gather together an alliance of evil nations to destroy Israel (Ezek. 38:5-9). According to the first-century historian Josephus (see Josephus, Jewish Antiquities 1.123), Magog is associated with the Scythian people who ruled vast regions of lands in Asia north of the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea (modern Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan). Furthermore, Gog is associated as the prince of Rosh, a cognate of the modern word Russia. In Hebrew, the word “Rosh” also denotes the uppermost part of something, the head or the top. Geographically speaking, Russia would be the uppermost part (most northern) of known nations to the ancient Israelites in which this prophecy took place.

Meshech, found in ancient Grecian literature, refers to a people known as the Moschoi, who then settled in an area on the southeast edge of the Black Sea. These people could have easily traveled north into modern-day Russia. The etymological likeness of Moschoi to Moscow, the capital of Russia, can not be overlooked.

Gog, probably the most enigmatic name in this list of ancient names, is often interpreted as either a person or a land. The Hebraic qualifier, “prince of Rosh,” leans more toward Gog being a person. Through Gematria, using the process of adding the nistar (concealed part) of the letters G-O-G (Gimel, Vav, Gimel), you get a numerical value of 146. Surprisingly, the Gematria of Putin (Pe, Vav, Tet, Nun) equals 145. The process of im hateivos allows 1 to be added to Putin, giving both an equal total of 146. Therefore, by allusion, we can make a case for Gog, the prince of Rosh, as Putin himself.

This becomes more significant when we note that among the allies of Magog (Russia) are Persia, Cush, and Put. Persia is modern-day Iran, while Cush is historically associated with Ethiopia and Put with Libya (Ezek. 38:5). In the Ezekiel prophecy, Russia and her allies will rise up against Israel and try to destroy her (Ezek. 38:8, 15-16, 18; 39:4). Therefore, the War against Ukraine can be seen as a precursor for an aggressive Russian nation that will ultimately attempt to invade the jewel of the Middle East, Israel.

The book of Revelation also refers to this end-time prophecy when Saint John the Apostle scribes, “Satan will be released from his prison and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea.” (Revelation 20:7b-8)

 Saudi Arabia is back in the news again and that has some Bible prophecy pundits warning that a 2600-year old biblical prediction could be about to happen! In one of his most detailed apocalyptic writings, the prophet Ezekiel identifies the nation of Saudi Arabia in his 38th chapter.

This ancient prophecy informs of a forthcoming massive invasion of Israel in the last days. It identifies an invading coalition that appears to be led by Russia and includes Turkey, Iran and nine populations in total.

In addition to this intimidating list of invaders, Ezekiel identifies a group of nations that appear to be contesting the evil intentions of this coalition. The verse below explains the sinister motives of the invaders and identifies the concerned protesters.

“Sheba, Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish, and all their young lions will say to you, ‘Have you come to take plunder? Have you, (Russia), gathered your (coalition) army to take booty, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to take great plunder?’” (Ezekiel 38:13, NKJV; emphasis added)

This passage identifies Saudi Arabia under the banner of Dedan. The Saudis are assembled alongside Sheba, (Yemen), Tarshish, (UK), and their Young Lions, (USA, and maybe Canada and Australia). This grouping of countries appear to be actively protesting, rather than militarily preventing this invasion of Israel.

The concerns of these sideline spectators are lodged in several questions, which help us to recognize that the primary goal of these invaders is to conquer Israel for their own capital gains. These belligerents intend to seize control over all aspects of Israel’s economy.

Due to the budding relationships between Russia, Turkey and Iran, several Bible prophecy teachers believe that Ezekiel 38 could be the next event to find fulfillment on the end times prophetic calendar. But is it?

Saudi Arabia is actually identified in at least four unfulfilled prophecies and when they are laid out sequentially, it turns out that Ezekiel 38:13 is seemingly the last of the four to find fulfillment. In addition to Ezekiel 38, Saudi Arabia, as Dedan, is the subject of biblical predictions in Jeremiah 49 and Ezekiel 25. Moreover, the Saudis appear to be represented as the Ishmaelites in the 3000-year old prophecy foretold in Psalm 83.         These prophecies will be presented in their apparent chronological order, but beforehand it is important to connect the ancient territory of Dedan and the Ishmaelite peoples of the past with modern-day Saudi Arabia.

Where is Dedan?

 Historic Mideast maps locate Dedan in Northwestern Saudi Arabia. Some Bible scholars, such as Gary Stearman of Prophecy Watchers,[i] suggest that in the Old Testament, Dedan might even extend beyond Saudi Arabia to also include the modern-day Gulf Cooperation Council, (GCC), countries of Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and the UAE. If Dedan represents the entirety of the GCC Arab states, this could be prophetically relevant in light of recent events.

“Israel signs accords with United Arab Emirates and Bahrain at White House ceremony” (USA Today – 9/15/20)

Presently, the UAE and Bahrain are in the process of normalizing national relations with Israel as part of the “Peace to Prosperity” aspect of Donald Trump’s, “Deal of the Century” Mideast peace plan. This economic part of Trump’s plan was introduced by White House adviser Jared Kushner in Bahrain on June 25, 2019.

In the process of achieving peace with the UAE and Bahrain, which are two Arab nations that never posed a real threat to the Jewish state, Israel has agreed to temporarily postpone its plans to annex territory in the West Bank. The annexation of this land was part of the political aspect of Trump’s Mideast peace plan.

“UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan: “I thank Netanyahu for choosing to stop annexation of Palestinian land.”” (Times of Israel – 9/15/20)

It’s interesting to note that UAE’s Foreign Minister considers the territory in question “Palestinian land.” In the cosmic CHESS MATCH between good and evil, it appears that evil moved two PAWNS, the UAE and Bahrain, forward and successfully put Israel into CHECK when it comes to the “Chosen People” expanding further into the “Promised Land.” How this newly formed alignment between Israel, the UAE and Bahrain may have prophetic implications will be explored near the end of this article.

Whether or not Dedan includes all of the GCC countries, most biblical scholars would agree that at least it identifies Saudi Arabia.

Who are the Ishmaelites?

Some suggest that Ishmael, the patriarch of the Ishmaelites, was the father of the Arabs and that he settled in Arabia. Ancient Arabia is now often alluded to as the Arabian Peninsula, and it is mostly encompassed by Saudi Arabia. The map and quote below it, reinforces these understandings.

“The Book of Genesis and Islamic traditions consider Ishmael to be the ancestor of the Ishmaelites/Arabians and patriarch of Qaydār. According to Muslim tradition, Ishmael the Patriarch and his mother Hagar are buried next to the Kaaba in Mecca… Ishmael is recognized as an important prophet and patriarch of Islam. Muslims believe that Ishmael was the firstborn of Abraham, born to him from his wife Sarah’s slave, Hagar. Ishmael is recognized by Muslims as the ancestor of several prominent Arab tribes and the forefather of Muhammad.”[ii]

The Four Unfulfilled Saudi Arabia Bible Prophecies

SAUDI PROPHECY #1

“Flee, turn back, dwell in the depths, O inhabitants of Dedan! For I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, The time that I will punish him.” (Jeremiah 49:8)

This often-overlooked Jeremiah foretelling concerning Dedan was penned approximately two decades prior to Ezekiel’s issuance of his 38th chapter. Jeremiah issues a stern admonition to the inhabitants dwelling in Dedan to,  “Flee, turn back, dwell in the depths.” This forewarning is given because “the calamity of Esau” is coming.

Apparently, when this future prediction happens, the Saudis will have joined forces with Esau’s descendants, and in so doing, will become positioned in the line of fire. The Lord is going to punish Esau severely, and for Saudi Arabia’s own protection, Jeremiah warns them to flee and turn back to the depths of their homeland. This infers that at the time of Esau’s calamity, that Saudi armed forces are involved in a military operation that is taking place on foreign soil.

The fifty-million-dollar question is, “what is Esau’s Calamity?” This topic will be addressed further down in this article, but beforehand it’s important to note what Jeremiah says happens to Esau’s neighbors as a result of the calamity.

And he, (Esau), shall not be able to hide himself. His descendants, (the Edomites), are plundered, His brethren and his neighbors, And he is no more. (Jer. 49:9–10, NKJV; emphasis added)

Esau’s neighbors are plundered. This would include Saudi Arabia, if they don’t heed the warning to, “flee, turn back, dwell in the depths.” In other words, back off and go back home or else be plundered alongside of Esau’s descendants.

SAUDI PROPHECY #2

“‘Thus says the Lord God: “Because of what (the) Edom(ites) did against the house of Judah (Israelis) by taking vengeance, and has greatly offended by avenging itself on them,” therefore thus says the Lord God: “I will also stretch out My hand against Edom, cut off man and beast from it, and make it desolate from Teman; Dedan shall fall by the sword. I will lay My vengeance on Edom by the hand of My people Israel, that they may do in Edom according to My anger and according to My fury; and they shall know My vengeance,” says the Lord God.” (Ezekiel 25:12-14, NKJV; emphasis added)

About two decades after Jeremiah pens his warning for the Saudis to disengage from their alignment with Esau, Ezekiel prophesies that the Saudis will fail to do so. As such, “Dedan shall fall by the sword.” In the Bible, “the sword” is often used as a typology for a war. Thus, this identifies the Saudis as one of the neighbors that get plundered in the related war when Esau’s Calamity comes.

This Ezekiel passage also explains why Esau’s Calamity comes and how this calamitous campaign is carried out. The Edomite descendants of Esau will be guilty of attempting to bring harm against the Jews, and in retaliation, the Lord will empower the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to execute His anger, fury and vengeance.

This curse for curse in kind response comes directly out of the Genesis 12:3 playbook. This verse represents God’s foreign policy to the Gentile nations. Those countries that do good to Israel will be blessed, but those that do harm will be cursed. The Edomites seek to harm the Jews, so in turn, God lifts up the IDF to eliminate all of Esau’s descendants! Yes, I said ELIMINATE ESAU’S DESCENDANTS. The prophet Obadiah foretells it this way:

““The house of Jacob, (the IDF), shall be a fire, And the house of Joseph, (the IDF), a flame; But the house of Esau shall be stubble; They shall kindle them and devour them, And no survivor, (descendant), shall remain of the house of Esau,” For the Lord has spoken.” (Obadiah 1:18, NKJV; emphasis added)

Understanding the size and scope of Esau’s calamity, it’s understandable why Jeremiah previously warns the Saudis to back off and go back home before this war happens.

SAUDI PROPHECY #3 

“They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” For they have consulted together with one consent; They form a confederacy against You:  The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagrites;  Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;  Assyria also has joined with them; They have helped the children of Lot. Selah” (Psalm 83:4-8)

Saudi Arabia’s third unfulfilled prophecy is encapsulated in Psalm 83. I have covered Psalm 83 extensively in my book and associated DVD entitled, Psalm 83: The Missing Prophecy Revealed, How Israel Becomes the Next Mideast Superpower. In those prior works, I explain the connections between the three Saudi prophecies identified thus far.

ESAU’S CALAMITY

In my book I explain how Esau’s Calamity is described in Psalm 83 and the related peripheral prophecies provided below. This is not an exhaustive list; all told there are nearly 150 verses that chronicle this calamitous event. Within these passages we find out that the IDF is God’s tool to defend Israel when these prophecies happen.

So who are Esau’s descendants today? They are the “Tents of Edom” in Psalm 83:6. Esau fathered the Edomites as per Genesis 36:1. In my Psalm 83 book I point out that the Edomites have an ethnical representation within the Palestinians. Not all Palestinians have an Edomite heritage, but many of them do.

The fact that they are identified as the “Tents of Edom,” infers that at the time of Esau’s Calamity, they are classified as refugees. In the Bible the “tents of” typically represents either military encampments or refugee scenarios. I believe that the Psalm describes the Palestinian refugees of today.

These Edomites are enjoined in the ten-member confederacy of Psalm 83:6-8 that wants to destroy Israel in Psalm 83:5. Below is a map that identifies the modern-day equivalents of these ancient populations. Observe that Saudi Arabia is included.

 

SAUDI PROPHECY #4

This fourth Saudi prophecy takes us back to the top of the article and Ezekiel 38:13. If the sequence of prophetic events presented thus far is correct, then by this future time Saudi Arabia has been plundered severely with the Palestinian refugees and their Psalm 83:6-8 confederacy.

Apparently, after being plundered, the Saudis decide to align themselves with the protesters, rather than the invaders in Ezekiel 38. Perhaps at this future point, when there is no further Palestinian plight to banner, the Saudis will abandon their Arab (Saudi) Peace Initiative in favor of normalized relations with Israel.

The Prophetic Implications of Israel’s peace with Bahrain and the UAE

If the first two prophecies about Dedan extend beyond Saudi Arabia to also include Bahrain and the UAE, then this current peace will be temporary. Those two predictions point out that Dedan gets plundered at the time of Esau’s Calamity. The IDF wouldn’t plunder Bahrain or the UAE if these peace deals were still in place.

However, there is another possible prophetic scenario to watch for that might include Bahrain and the UAE. Jeremiah 49:34-39 informs of an end times war with Iran. I write about this war in my book entitled, “Nuclear Showdown in Iran, Revealing the Ancient Prophecy of Elam.”

In a nutshell, this prophecy declares that Iran will experience a disaster, probably nuclear, and it appears that this results from a military attack by the enemies of Iran. The key verse is below.

“For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies And before those who seek their life. I will bring disaster upon them, My fierce anger,’ says the Lord; ‘And I will send the sword after them Until I have consumed them.’” (Jeremiah 49:37)

Saudi Arabia is the great nation that had been prophesied to Ishmael, the son of Abraham. Ishmael was born when Abraham was eighty-six years old. He was circumcised at the age of 13—a custom still followed today by the Arabs. Ishmael and his half-brother Isaac buried Abraham together. Ishmael died aged 137.

Ishmael had twelve sons—among them Ishmael’s second-born son, Kedar (“powerful”); Dumah (“silence”; compare Isaiah 21:11; Joshua 15:52); Naphish (“numerous”); Tema (“sun burnt”); and Jetur. The Bible, when addressing the descendants of Ishmael, sometimes refers to Ishmael, sometimes to Ishmael’s second-born son Kedar (synonymously used in Scripture with Ishmael); sometimes to Ishmael’s mother Hagar; sometimes to any of the other above-quoted names of Ishmael’s sons; and sometimes simply to “Arabia” (“wilderness”) or “Arabians.” Young’s Analytical Concordance to the Bible explains that “Arabia today consists mainly of Saudi Arabia. However, it also includes the two Yemens, Oman, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and the Sinai peninsula.”

As mentioned, the prophecy that Ishmael would become a great nation refers primarily to Saudi Arabia today.

Focusing on the biblical history of Ishmael and his descendants, we note that Joseph’s brothers sold him to Ishmaelites who in turn sold him to Potiphar (Genesis 37:27-28; 39:1).

Under David, an Ishmaelite officer was put in charge over camels (1 Chronicles 27:30). Previously, at the time of Gideon, Ishmaelites had the unusual custom of wearing golden earrings (Judges 8:24). At the time of Solomon, the kings of Arabia were famous for their riches in gold which they shared, in part, with Solomon (1 Kings 10:15; 2 Chronicles 9:14), and at the time of Jehoshaphat of Judah, the Arabians gave him valuable presents in the form of livestock (2 Chronicles 17:11).

We read about the nomadic nature of Ishmael and his sons, when the Bible refers to the tents of Kedar (Psalm 120:5; Song 1:5); or when it speaks of Arabians pitching their tents (Isaiah 13:20); or when it mentions the caravans of Tema, one of Ishmael’s sons (Job 6:19); or when it compares Israel with somebody sitting by the road like “an Arabian in the wilderness” (Jeremiah 3:2). Even though such nomadic nature would somewhat change in time, the Bible still uses those terms in respect to Ishmael and his descendants, when addressing prophetic events of the future.

The Bible describes the relationship between Israel or Judah and Ishmael and his descendants mostly as a hostile one. We read in 1 Chronicles 5:19 that the sons of Reuben, the Gadites and half of the tribe of Manasseh made war with some of Ishmael’s descendants, i.e., the Hagrites, Jetur, and Naphish.

1 Chronicles 5:10, 19-20 tells us that King Saul made war with the Hagrites, who are, as mentioned, the descendants of Hagar, the mother of Ishmael (The margin of the New King James Bible confirms that the Hagrites are descendants of Hagar.)

2 Chronicles 21:16 states that God stirred up the spirit of the Arabians, who were near the Ethiopians, against evil King Jehoram of Judah. Since raiders who came with the Arabians killed all the older sons of King Jehoram, his youngest son Ahaziah was made king over Judah, but he did not behave any better than his evil father (2 Chronicles 22:1-3). However, when later a righteous king came to the throne of Judah, namely King Uzziah, God helped him against hostile Arabians (2 Chronicles 26:7).

(In passing, we read that at the time of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, descendants of Ishmael’s second-born son Kedar, the “men of the East,” would be conquered, compare Jeremiah 49:28-29. It is not certain whether this prophecy has any dual application for us today.)

At the time of the prophet Jeremiah, we read in chapters 40 and 41 of the book Jeremiah, that an Ishmaelite slayed the governor of Babylon and all the Jews and Chaldeans who were with him (compare Jeremiah 41:2-3). Still later, Arabians opposed Nehemiah’s attempt to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem which had been destroyed by the Babylonians (Nehemiah 2:19; 4:7; 6:1-9).

On the other hand, we have seen that there were at times friendly relationships between Israel and Judah and the Arabs; for instance, when the kings of Arabia brought presents to Solomon and Jehoshaphat.

Turning to the New Testament, we find that Arabs were present in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost when God poured out His Holy Spirit on the New Testament Church (Acts 2:11), and that Paul, after his conversion, went to Arabia (Galatians 1:17) and stayed there for a while, perhaps, as Young’s Analytical Concordance to the Bible suggests, to associate with those Arabs who had been converted on the Day of Pentecost.

On the other hand, Paul states in Galatians 4:25 that Hagar is Mount Sinai in present-day Arabia, which is still not free, but enslaved to sin. This is true, of course, for the whole world today, which is cut off from God.

Focusing on our modern times, we read in Ezekiel 27:21 that Arabia and all the end-time princes of Ishmael’s second-born son Kedar would be the regular merchants of, and have regular bilateral economic trade relationships with mystical Tyre (symbolizing the end-time Babylonian system, as described in the book of Revelation).

Focusing more on end-time prophecies, we also find the remarkable statement that Kedar would not have changed their god in recent times—unlike the modern house of Israel which did (compare Jeremiah 2:10-11). Ever since the Arabs accepted Islam as their religion and began to worship Allah, they have over all stuck to that form of religious worship. The modern house of Israel, on the other hand, has totally abandoned the God of the Bible (Jeremiah 2:4, 9-11-13), and has instead adopted the worship of a “Trinitarian” god (the unbiblical curiosity of “one Person in three Persons”) with customs, practices and rites adopted from paganism. That God’s charge is directed against the house of Israel in our time is clear from God’s statement in verse 9 that God brings those charges against “you” and “your children” and “your children’s children.”

We also read, in Psalm 83:6 that Ishmaelites—the kingdom of Saudi Arabia—as well as other Arabic tribes, such as the Hagrites, will enter into an anti-Israeli confederacy with nations such as Edom (Turkey); Moab (parts of Jordan and perhaps Iraq); Ammon (Jordan); Amalek (perhaps today violent groups like the PLO); Philistia (Palestinians); Lot (Jordan); and, most noteworthy, Assyria or modern-day Germany.

When God intervenes in world affairs, He will begin to pour out His wrath and fury over all nations, by bringing the sword over them (Jeremiah 25:15-17), including Arabia and Tema, one of Ishmael’s sons (Jeremiah 25:23). This will happen during the Day of the LORD of God’s wrath (Jeremiah 25:33), which will begin approximately one year prior to Christ’s return.

We find a remarkable and somewhat detailed prophecy about the future of Saudi Arabia in Isaiah 21:13-17, stating:

“The burden against Arabia. In the forest in Arabia you will lodge, O you traveling companies of the Dedanites [apparently descendants of Jokshan, the son of Abraham by Keturah, Genesis 25:3, who settled in the region of Arabia Petrea]. O inhabitants of the land of Tema [see above], Bring water to him who is thirsty; With their bread they met him who fled. For they fled from the swords, from the drawn sword, From the bent bow, and from distress of war. For thus the LORD has said to me; ‘Within a year, according to the year of a hired man, all the glory of [Ishmael’s second-born son] Kedar will fail; and the remainder of the number of archers, the mighty men of the people of Kedar, will be diminished; for the LORD God of Israel has spoken it.’”

This Scripture tells us that “Arabia”–Saudi Arabia today–will experience defeat in war, and the time span of one year is given, apparently referring to the Day of the LORD. We are not specifically told who exactly will defeat the Arabs in war, but we note that in Old Testament times, the Assyrians did so, and most commentaries apply the prophecy of Isaiah to that occurrence. They overlook, however, that the prophecy is primarily for our times today (see below), but the question is whether the prophecy is dual, in that Assyria will again be the enemy defeating the Arabs in war, after they first had entered into an alliance with Assyria against Israel.

We also read that the Arabs are admonished to help those with water and bread who flee from the terrible weapons and distress of war—apparently referring to the war which will be started by the Babylonian system under Assyrian leadership, but it could also refer perhaps to the “retaliatory” war fought by the Russians and other Far Eastern nations against Babylon.

In that context, we note that the immediate context of this prophecy is the fall of the modern Babylonian system which is currently rising one more time in Europe (compare Isaiah 21:9, saying that “Babylon is fallen, is fallen”—referring to ancient and to modern times).

We are also told that Kedar—Saudi Arabia—and all the other Arab tribes will ultimately recognize and worship Jesus Christ after His return (Isaiah 42:10-13); and they will worship in Jerusalem and bring their gifts to that holy place where Christ will rule (Isaiah 59:20-21; 60:1-3, 7, 14).

The peace deal signed at the White House this week by Israel and the United Arab Emirates (now also involving Bahrain, with talk of others joining the queue) is truly historic, and wonderfully welcome.

The UAE is only the third Arab state (after Egypt and Jordan) to agree to normalization of diplomatic ties with the Jewish state and it’s highly significant, coming at a time of increasing tension in the Middle East.

There are of course pragmatic reasons for this new deal, such as the growing threat to Sunni-led Muslim countries of Iran and its proxies. There was also a caveat behind the deal – that Israel would shelve its proposed ‘annexation’ of Judea, Samaria and parts of the Jordan Valley. (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sees this as delay, not cancellation).

But it is a sign of peace nonetheless, demonstrating realism among Arab leaders who basically want to live in harmony with their neighbours, though fully aware that the Palestinian narrative is something of a sacrifice in the process.

The latter see recognition of a Palestinian state as a precondition to any such deal. But the more obvious reality in the region is that the Jewish state has emerged as a major player on the world scene – in the high-tech, military, agricultural and other realms – and the conclusion has clearly been drawn that it is safer to be friends than enemies.

This kind of peace was prophesied by Isaiah (chapter 19.23-25) who wrote of a time when the nations to the north and south of Israel would join the Jews in forming a highway of reconciliation, though at a deeper level than mere political manoeuvring.

Besides, the darkening clouds have extended beyond Iran to Turkey, rapidly morphing from a secular Muslim state to a strident religious one, with President Erdogan turning the iconic Hagia Sophia back into a mosque and threatening to reclaim Jerusalem’s Temple Mount for a revived Ottoman Empire.

An unpredictable Russia is also rearing its ugly head as we teeter on the brink of another Cold War possibly warming up into something rather more fearsome.

The Abraham Covenant

Four thousand years ago, God entered into a covenant with Abraham. This pivotal event is recorded in Genesis 15:18:

In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: (Genesis 15:18)

This covenant made by God with Abraham promised the land of Israel would belong to Abraham’s descendants forever. Because the Jews rejected Jesus when He came as their Messiah, the Jewish people were driven into exile from their Promised Land by the Romans in 70 AD. Their exile continued for almost 2,000 years until the rebirth of Israel in 1948.

As God began to reestablish the seed of Abraham in their Promised Land, their surrounding Arab neighbors bitterly opposed their return to the land of Israel.

Finally, in 1979 Egypt, led by Anwar Sadat, became the first Arab nation to sign a peace treaty with Israel. One year later, Sadat paid with his life for this action when he was assassinated by militants who hated Israel. Then in 1994, the country of Jordan signed a peace agreement with the Jewish nation. Still, 20 Arab nations steadfastly refused to establish relations with Israel or acknowledge her right to exist.

The Abraham Accords

Before his election, Donald Trump declared the number one goal of his presidency would be to achieve peace between Israel and her Arab neighbors.

After three years of determined diplomacy, President Trump surprised the world by announcing a peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates. A few days later, the country of Bahrain announced they too would establish peace with Israel.

On September 15, 2020 representatives from Israel, the United States, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain met in Washington, DC on the White House lawn. There they signed the Abraham Accords.

When the name of the agreement was announced, people with a knowledge of the Abraham Covenant were amazed.

Middle East Peace Prophesied

It is prophesied in the Bible that a peace agreement will be signed between the Israelis and Palestinians just seven years before the Battle of Armageddon and the physical return of Jesus to the earth. The prophecy is found in Daniel 9:27:

And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week (New Century Version renders this seven years): and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. (Daniel 9:27)

This prophecy states the Antichrist will confirm the Abrahamic Covenant with many for seven years. Remember, the covenant God made with Abraham decreed Abraham’s seed would dwell in the land of Israel. The Abraham Accords just signed by Bahrain and the UAE acknowledge Israel has a right to exist in the land given to them by the Abrahamic Covenant. So, the question has to be asked: “Was the signing of the Abraham Accords the Confirmation of the Covenant that marks the beginning of the Final Seven Years?”

Have the Final Seven Years Begun?

The answer to this important question is no. The signing of the peace agreements by Bahrain and the UAE is not the completion of the Abraham Accords.

Notice in the prophecy the Antichrist will confirm the covenant with “many”. After the Accords were signed on September 15, President Trump said there are many other Arab nations that are now anxious to sign onto the Abraham Accords. This is expected to happen over the next few weeks or months. The most important signatory of all to the Accords will be the Palestinians.

The completion of the Abraham Accords must contain five specific elements:

1) The Palestinians must be included in the peace agreement.

2) A Palestinian homeland must be established in Judea (the West Bank).

3) Jews living in Judea will be allowed to remain there, living in the midst of the Palestinians.

4) The Temple Mount will be placed under a sharing arrangement so that all religions can worship there.

5) Jerusalem will remain undivided under Israeli control.

Karl Schwab’s World Economic Forum (WEF) seems at the moment to be the primary force in this accelerated effort to bring about a one-world government. January 16, 2023, the WEF will meet to deal with the following agenda items to create systems of control, according to reports. This is the nucleus of their much-ballyhooed “Reset.”

1. A new system to deal with energy and food crisis.
2. A new system to deal with high inflation, low growth and high economy.
3. A new system based on the use of technology.
4. A new system to deal with social issues.
5. A new system to deal with dialogue and cooperation in multi polar world

The satanic powers are in a race to have everything in order when the real Reset takes place. The demonic minions among them, at least, understand that the real Reset will be the one God interjects into this world. They believe in the Rapture, because they know God cannot lie. They just don’t know when it will happen (it will be cataclysmic for the world of rebels, but not for Christians).

You and I are in an even more profound race of destiny. The race God has chosen for us to run is all-important within His eternal knowledge. We are to run it all out and give all we can to God’s great calling in our lives–individually and collectively as His Church.

Paul the apostle informs about his own race, which he carried out spectacularly to the very end of his life and until his beginning at home in Heaven:

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13–14)

Let us run this race in which we’ve been placed for this time at the very end of this Church Age. Like Paul heard, we want to hear what the Lord said will be His words for us when we finish this race to the best of our ability:

…Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. (Matthew 25:21–22)

On September 15th, 2020, Israel signed peace agreements (dubbed as the Abraham Accords) with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain. This then led to subsequent agreements with Sudan and Morocco. Since then, the momentum surrounding the Abraham Accords hasn’t slowed down but has instead grown with even the Biden Administration wanting to see this initiative expanded.

In May of 2021, it was announced that Jared Kushner who had a significant role in this process launched a peace institute to advance the Abraham Accords. Then in September, it was reported that former US Ambassador David Friedman launched the “Friedman Center for Peace through Strength” institute for the advancement of the Abraham Accords.

As of January 2022, we also now know that a bipartisan caucus launched by US lawmakers was created to further promote and expand upon the Abraham Accords, “[T]he group would provide ‘bipartisan leadership to strengthen existing partnerships and widen the circle of peace to new countries,'” (The Times of Israel). These are just a few of the recent examples of this continued momentum but the question now is why should we care about the Abraham Accords and these ongoing efforts to further expand it? Is it something worth paying attention to?

I believe that this may be contributing to the stage setting for the Daniel 9:27 covenant as well as for the conditions for the Ezekiel 38-39 invasion. First, in regards to Daniel 9:27, this future covenant will be confirmed for a “week” or 7 years which will be what start the tribulation period. The word for confirm in Hebrew is gabar – to make strong, strengthen, to confirm.

It’s likely that something will already be in place in some form which the antichrist will then “strengthen”. What we’re seeing is an Israel that’s more than willing to enter into agreements with others for their benefit. This isn’t necessarily bad, but it shows us the mindset they have. It’s preparing them to enter the agreement of the ages. Along with Daniel 9:27, we’re also seeing the increased set up for the Ezekiel 38-39 war.

What we’re seeing with the accords is an increased call for peace in the Middle East as well as Israel reaping economic benefits. In Ezekiel 38 we’re informed of Israel’s state of being when several nations go against it.

he ‘Abraham Accord’ Will Connect Israel And Abu Dhabi Where The Chrislam Headquarters Known As The Abrahamic Faiths House Is Located

Today’s announcement of a peace treaty between the Jews and Arabs contained within the ‘Abraham Accord’ brokered by Jared Kushner and the Trump administration sent shock waves throughout the bible prophecy world today. But it is only many hours later, as the dust begins to settle, that the true picture of what actually took place this morning comes fully into view. The ‘Abraham Accord’ is the missing link the Vatican needed to complete its launch of Chrislam, otherwise known as the Abrahamic Faiths Initiative.

“Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.” Isaiah 28:15,16 (KJV)

When you lay all the cards out on the table, the picture becomes absolutely stunning. Take a look at the rough timeline leading up to the announcement of the ‘Abraham Accord’, and you tell me if it all connected or not. Chrislam, the One World Religion from Revelation 13, goes by many names, and you will see most if not all of them listed below. Whether they called it the ‘Abraham Accord’, the ‘Abrahamic Family Initiative’, or any such variation, it all means Chrislam. That is what took place this morning in the White House.

Now we have in a direct spiritual/religious connection the Jews, the Muslims and the Roman Catholic Church, all working together to bring about the One World Religion and the false peace of Antichrist. • January 11, 2016: Pope Francis Releases A One World Religion Prayer Video Saying All Faiths The Same. Pope Francis has sent the first shot across the prophecy bow for 2016, clearly stating his desire to unite the world’s religions and create a one, global religion that will combine elements from Christianity, Islam, Buddhism and Judaism. Francis repeatedly states that “we are all children of God” no matter what our faiths or religious beliefs might be.  This is in direct opposition to the Bible which states that only when born again in Jesus Christ alone can we ever be called God’s children.
• May 23, 2016: Pope Francis And Sunni Islam’s Top Imam Hold Historic Meeting At Vatican. The first Vatican meeting between the leader of the world’s Catholics and the highest authority in Sunni Islam marks the culmination of a significant improvement in relations between the two faiths since Francis took office in 2013. “Our meeting is the message,” Francis said in a brief comment at the start of his meeting with Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb, Vatican officials told a small pool of reporters covering the event. In a statement on the trip, Al-Azhar, an institution that also comprises a prestigious seat of learning, said Tayeb had accepted Pope Francis’s invitation in order to “explore efforts to spread peace and co-existence.”
• February 10, 2019: Vatican Officially Releases Chrislam Logo For Pope Francis Upcoming ‘Servant Of Hope’ Tour To The Muslim Nation OF Morocco. The Holy Father is making the Apostolic Visit in response to the invitation of King Mohammed VI and the Bishops of the country.  The trip to the Muslim-majority nation includes the cities of Rabat and Casablanca, and will be the Pope’s 26th outside Italy. The official logo of the Pope’s visit was chosen from about 50 entries in a competition. An explanatory note accompanying the logo’s release says that a cross and a crescent in the logo are symbols of Christianity and Islam which highlight the interreligious relations between Christians and Muslims.

We showed you how back in February the pope signed a “universal declaration of brotherhood” with the grand imam Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb that didn’t include even a single mention of the name of Jesus Christ. • August 27, 2019: Pope Francis Issues The Order Creating Global Chrislam Committee To Implement His Decree On ‘Human Fraternity For World Peace’ Signed In UAE Back In February. Last week, the Vatican announced that a multi-faith “Higher Committee” had been established in the United Arab Emirates to implement the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together,” which Pope Francis signed on Feb. 4, 2019, in Abu Dhabi, together with Ahmad el-Tayeb, Grand Imam al-Azhar, during a three-day apostolic visit to the Arabian Peninsula. Members of the seven member Catholic and Muslim commission include Pope Francis’s personal secretary, Fr. Yoannis Lahzi Gaid, and the president of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, Archbishop Miguel Angel Ayuso Guixot.
• September 22, 2019: The Catholic-Muslim Interfaith Council Created By Pope Francis Announces New Chrislam Headquarters Opening In 2022 That Combines A Mosque And Church According To Signed Covenant. The announcement of the Abrahamic Family House, on the Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, follows a visit by Pope Francis to the UAE in February, the first by a pope to the Arabian Peninsula. During the trip, the pope signed a joint declaration with the grand imam of al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed el-Tayeb, that called for religious tolerance and dialogue. An interfaith council to oversee projects advancing tolerance was formed as a result of the declaration, and named the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity. The Abrahamic Family House is its first initiative.
• October 3, 2019: Pope Francis Sends Chrislam Gifts To Mosque Including A Signed Copy Of Abu Dhabi Statement That It Is ‘God’s Will’ To Create A One World Unified Religion. Cardinal Maurice Piat, Bishop of Port-Louis, Mauritius, presented two gifts to a local mosque on behalf of Pope Francis last week, one a copy of the controversial Abu-Dhabi statement which claims that a diversity of religions is willed by God. Piat went to the Jummah Mosque on September 24 to present Nissar Ramtoolah, president of the mosque, with the two gifts from Pope Francis, according to a translated report from the Diocese of Port-Louis. Photos of the exchange show the cardinal dressed as a layman all in white.
• December 20, 2019: Just As We Told You It Would Happen, The Vatican Now Makes Its Move To Bring Judaism Into Chrislam As The ‘Third Pillar’ Of The ‘Abrahamic Faiths’. Back in September, we broke the incredible story of a massive new headquarters being built in Abu Dhabi which will serve as the focal point of the One World Religion of Chrislam being pushed by Pope Francis and the Catholic Church. • January 14, 2020: Ambassador Brownback Travels to Vatican City and Turkey. Ambassador Brownback will begin his trip in Rome and Vatican City, January 14-16, where he will participate in the launch of the Abrahamic Faiths Initiative, a dialogue led and organized by religious leaders of three Abrahamic faith traditions, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, working together to emphasize the peaceful expression of faith and the renunciation of violence.  This dialogue, the first of many, seeks to foster mutual respect, tolerance, and understanding between the Abrahamic faith traditions in the quest for greater religious freedom, stability and peace around the world.

• January 24, 2020: Mike Pence Has Secret Closed-Door Meeting With Pope Francis, Receives ‘Angel Of Peace’ Medallion And Signed ‘World Peace Day 2020’ Document.Vice President Mike Pence met with Pope Francis at the Vatican today that was distinguished by how long of a meeting it was, and the fact that the main part of the meeting was held in secret behind closed doors. The private meeting comes as a direct result of a meeting by US Ambassador To The Holy See, Callista Gingrich, where she expressed the desire of the United States to ‘fully support’ the Abrahamic Faiths Initiative, otherwise known as the One World Religion of Chrislam.
• January 25, 2020: Is Trump Preparing To Combine His ‘Deal Of The Century’ Middle East Peace Plan With Pope Francis’ Abrahamic Faiths Initiative? Do you see where all this is heading? Trump has the relationship with Israel, Pope Francis has the relationship with the Muslims, put the two together and….peace in the Middle East? Sure seems like it to me. The missing ingredient that no other political leader has had in the past 70 years is Chrislam. Rick Warren started it, handed the baton with full evangelical support to Pope Francis, the pope then signed a covenant with Islam, and the Trump administration has thrown in their full support in the same week as announcing they are finally ready with the Peace Plan. Across the board you have complete and total harmony, everyone gets something, everyone is happy.
• February 6, 2020: U.S. launches International Religious Freedom Alliance. Twenty-six countries from around the world have joined the United States in the formal creation of the International Religious Freedom Alliance. Members of the alliance have pledged to uphold the Declaration of Principles, which commits countries to object and oppose, publicly and privately, all abuses or violations of religious freedom. “Our mission spans nationalities, political systems, and creeds,” Pompeo said during the alliance’s first meeting, held February 5 at the State Department.

• June 4, 2020: President Trump Signs Executive Order ‘Advancing International Religious Freedom’ After Visiting The Idol Of Saint John Paul II. On Tuesday, President Trump and the First Lady visited the shrine of Saint John Paul II, something as idolatrous as anything the Jews in the Old Testament had going on in the groves that God hates so much, and bowed before his idol and gave tribute. That really happened – but wait, it gets worse yet. Then Trump returned to the White House and signed an executive order that gives strength and power to the One World Religion of Chrislam. It provides for “promotion of interfaith dialogue to solve problems and promote greater inter- and intra-religious understanding.” How broad must be the smile on the face of Pope Francis today.
• August 13, 2020: Trump Brokers Deal Between Israel And The United Arab Emirates To Create Full Diplomatic Relations Between The Two Nations. Netanyahu tweeted an Israeli flag with a short message in Hebrew: “Historic Day.” The joint statement from the U.S., the UAE and Israel said delegations would meet in the coming weeks to sign deals on direct flights, security, telecommunications, energy, tourism and health care. The two countries also will partner on fighting the coronavirus pandemic. “Opening direct ties between two of the Middle East’s most dynamic societies and advanced economics will transform the region by spurring economic growth, enhancing technological innovation and forging closer people-to-people relations,” said the statement by Trump, Netanyahu and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the day-to-day ruler of the UAE. It said the leaders had a three-way call discussing the deal.

The ‘Abraham Accord’ Will Connect Israel And Abu Dhabi Where The Chrislam Headquarters Known As The Abrahamic Faiths House Is Located

FROM THE JERUSALEM POST: The agreement will include establishing embassies and exchanging ambassadors, investments into the Israeli economy, trade, direct flights between Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi, an investment in Israeli efforts to develop a coronavirus vaccine – as first reported in The Jerusalem Post last month – and cooperation in matters of energy and water. An important element of the deal for the UAE is the expectation that its citizens would be able to visit the Al-Aksa mosque in Jerusalem.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the deal “full, formal peace” with “one of the strongest countries in the world.”

“Together we can bring a wonderful future. It is an incomparably exciting moment,” Netanyahu said. “I have the great privilege to make the third peace treaty between Israel and an Arab country, the UAE.”

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.” Daniel 9:27 (KJB)

There can be no denying what is plain and obvious and right before our eyes, so we say with complete certainty that the ‘Abraham Accord‘ announced this morning is absolutely the culmination of all the work done by Rick Warren, Pope Francis and the Vatican in creating the One World Religion of Chrislam. Today Chrislam took a giant step forward in realizing the signing of what will culminate in the 7-year covenant foretold in Daniel 9:27. We are that close. Now let’s see how Macron will fit into all of this, that will be the truly fascinating part.

The accords were signed in front of a crowd of approximately 800 people by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, UAE Foreign Minister  Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif Al Zayan.

In a manner hinting at the prophesied beating of swords into plowshares, the agreement called for “the further development of friendly relations meets the interests of lasting peace in the Middle East and that challenges can only be effectively addressed by cooperation and not by conflict.”

This would be accomplished through “diplomatic engagement, increased economic cooperation and other close coordination.”

The agreement explained the Biblical roots of the name:

“Recognizing that the Arab and Jewish peoples are descendants of a common ancestor, Abraham, and inspired, in that spirit, to foster in the Middle East a reality in which Muslims, Jews, Christians and peoples of all faiths, denominations, beliefs and nationalities live in, and are committed to, a spirit of coexistence, mutual understanding and mutual respect…”

The nations agreed to establish embassies, though it is unclear whether the UAE and Bahrain will locate theirs in Jerusalem.

Much of the agreement was based on economic cooperation and interaction with the accords specifying finance and investment, civil aviation, visas and consular services, innovation, trade, and economic relations. 

The accords open the doors to bilateral tourism. This is highly attractive to the Arab nations as several significant sites considered holy to Islam are located in Israel. 

The accords also specified joint efforts to combat terrorism, stating that the countries will “take the necessary steps to prevent any terrorist or hostile activities against each other on or from their respective territories, as well as deny any support for such activities abroad or allowing such support on or from their respective territories.”

PALESTINIANS/JUDEA AND SAMARIA

The accords referred to the issue of the conflict between the Palestinians and Israel, stating that the countries were “committed to working together to realize a negotiated solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that meets the legitimate needs and aspirations of both peoples, and to advance comprehensive Middle East peace, stability and prosperity.”

The accords did not mention land or territories in reference to a solution for peace with the Palestinians. This may be significant or not and will only become clear in the future.

A LOOK FORWARD: NINE MORE COUNTRIES TO MAKE PEACE WITH ISRAEL

During the media conference after the signing, President Trump told reporters that additional peace deals are in the works with eight or nine countries.

“We have many other countries going to be joining us, and they’re going to be joining us soon. We’ll have I think seven or eight or nine. We’re going to have a lot of other countries joining us, including the big ones. We already have the big one, but including the big ones,” Trump said.

Israel 365 News managing editor David Sidman conjectured that the “big one”, what Sidman referred to as “the elephant in the room”, would be Saudi Arabia, the head of the Sunni Muslim world and a close ally of the US.

“At the right time, I do think they will come in,” Trump said, referring to Saudi Arabia. “This is a very big and very historic moment, and I think everyone agrees to that. But we’ll have other countries coming in fairly rapidly.”

ISRAEL365 NEWS INTERVIEWED FORMER ISRAEL AMBASSADOR TO THE US 

Before the signing, Israel365 News covered the event, interviewing Michael Oren who served as the Israeli Ambassador to the US during the difficult years of the Obama administration. Oren described the accords as a “stunning diplomatic breakthrough.”

“It upends all the political assumptions going back over 30 years,” Oren said, noting that the peace agreement with Egypt required Israel to relinquish the entire Sinai Peninsula. “The notion of territory for peace has been hardwired into the process for 70 years. We didn’t give up a single millimeter of Eretz Yisrael (land of Israel) for this peace agreement.”

“Also, for all this time people have been claiming that the core conflict in the Middle East was the Palestinian conflict,” Oren added. “And that the core of the Palestinian-Israeli was Jerusalem and the settlements. All that has been dispelled by these agreements.”

“Beyond that it is an enormous economic, financial,and strategic accomplishment. It is the wedding of the most innovative country in the world with two of the wealthiest countries in the world. That wedding can be transformative, not just for the Middle East  but for the entire world.”

“It also allows Israel and these moderate Arab countries to establish a strategic alliance against Iran, on one hand, and against Turkey, on the other. These Arab states were put in a bind with the Shiite Islamic Republic of Iran and the radical Sunni state of Turkey which is allied with Hamas and other Jihadists which are threatening these regimes almost as much as they are threatening us.So we have a natural alliance with them. So they concluded that there was on other power in the Middle East that not only did not threaten them but was able to strengthen their defense.”

Oren noted that the US played “a very interesting role”, noting that the Trump administration’s rejection of the Obama-brokered deal with Iran increased the US’s leverage to negotiate.

“If America went back to the Iran deal, it would stop the peace process dead,” Oren said. 

He noted that the nature of the Abraham Accords could be seen by in the embassies in Jordan and Egypt where, despite the peace agreements with Israel, the Israeli diplomats live under constant threat. In Bahrain and the UAE, diplomats are not under threat.

PROPHETIC BASIS FOR ACCORDS

Israel365 feature articles reporter Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz was asked during the broadcast what he saw as the prophetic implications of the Abrahama Accords. 

“It’s all Biblical,” Berkowitz said. “This is not only a hugely historic event but it is also incredibly prophetic. We’re seeing a period of peace focused on Jerusalem, the city of peace.This was the condition that preceded the building of Solomon’s Temple. He built the First Temple out of peace and not out of war.”

Berkowitz also noted that according to Jewish tradition, the Bnei Yishmael (sons of Ishmael) are destined to repent in the end of days. He cited a verse in Genesis.

His sons Yitzchak and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron son of Zohar the Hittite, facing Mamre Genesis 25:9

“We are seeing a reconciliation between Yishmael and Isaac,” Berkowitz said. He explained that according to Jewish tradition, Ishmael should have gone first since he is the older  brother. By allowing him to go first, Ishmael is acknowledging the spiritual superiority of Isaac. 

“The Abraham Accords is not peace,” Berkowitz noted. It is normalization. It is a meeting of brothers, as in the prophecy, with the Arabs recognizing the worth of Isaac.”

 

SANCTIFIED WITH PRAYER

Jews are required to pray the afternoon prayers before the sun sets and, as the timing would have it, there were approximately 20 religiously observant Jews on hand after the event, which included h US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, the president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, and many of those responsible for the negotiations. The worshipers wore masks and  observed social distancing.

 

MEDIA AND DEMOCRAT PARTY LEADERS SNUB THE HISTORIC EVENT

The media’s ambivalence to this historic event was shocking. As three nations joined together in peace, CNN focused on the lack of social distancing, reporting the event under the headline, “White House largely disregards coronavirus precautions during Abraham Accords signing.”

The New York Times focused on the event’s impact on regional peace but with a decidedly lackluster headline reading, “Trump Hosts Israel, U.A.E. and Bahrain at White House Signing Ceremony” and the subhead, “President Trump said the agreements to normalize relations marked ‘the dawn of a new Middle East,’ but some analysts said his claims were overblown.” The lead paragraph noted that the tri-nation agreement was unacceptable as it “failed to address the future of the Palestinians.” Ironically, the article compared Tuesday’s event to the signing of the Oslo accords in the same place 27 years ago. At that event, Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin agreed to give money, weapons, and land to PLO chieftain Yasser Arafat. The NYT attempted to claim that the Oslo accords that have resulted in almost non-stop terrorist attacks was a far greater achievement than the signing of the Abraham Accords which “lacked the feeling … that something both psychically and historically profound was taking place at the White House.”

NPR downplayed the significance in an article titled, “Abraham Accords Fall Short Of Becoming ‘The Deal Of The Century.” The audio-article disparaged the Abraham accords for two shortcomings.

“Initially, the White House was trying to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with the, quote, ‘deal of the century’,” Michelle Keleman said. “But the Palestinians were not among those signing the so-called Abraham Accords today.”

“Neither Bahrain nor the United Arab Emirates were at war with Israel,” she added. “They had been working quietly together to counter Iran.”

It should be noted that the White House invited a large number of politicians from the Democratic party but in a tragically ironic statement about the schism in US politics, none of the party leaders attended the event that brought together three nations in peace.

A LOOK BACK: THE BOMB THAT FAILED TO EXPLODE

In his speech at the event, President Trump was overflowing with optimism:

“We’re here this afternoon to change the course of history. After decades of division and conflict we mark the dawn of a new Middle East,” he said.

An article in WND noted that when President Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, some predicted this would be the spark that would set off a war in the region. In 2017, former secretary of state John Kerry predicted that moving the embassy would enrage all the Arab nations. 

“You’d have an explosion – an absolute explosion in the region, not just in the West Bank and perhaps even in Israel itself, but throughout the region,” he warned. “The Arab world has enormous interest in the Haram al-Sharif, as it is called, the Temple Mount, the Dome [of the Rock], and it is a holy site for the Arab world.”

Robin Wright wrote in the New Yorker:

“President Trump threw a diplomatic bomb into the Middle East peace process with his twin decisions to formally recognize Jerusalem.”

PALESTINIAN REACTION TO PEACE: ROCKETS

While the ceremony played out in Washington, Color Red sirens went off in southern Israel as a barrage of 15 rockets was fired from Gaza. Eight rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome system. 13 Israelis were injured in the rocket attacks. One man in his 60s was hit by shrapnel. He is in critical but stable condition.

In response, the Israeli Air Force launched ten airstrikes, hitting Hamas targets in Gaza including a weapons and explosives manufacturing factory and a military compound. A tunnel was also reportedly destroyed in the IAF strikes.

 

No Palestinian casualties were reported.

“I’m not surprised that the Palestinian terrorists fired at Israel precisely during this historic ceremony,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said from Washingtonl.

“They want to turn back the peace. In that, they will not succeed,” he told reporters. “We will strike at all those who raise a hand to harm us, and we will reach out to all those who extend the hand of peace to us.”

Though the rocket fire came from Gaza, the Palestinian government in Ramallah expressed support for the attack. Monir al-Jaghoub, who heads Fatah’s Information Department in the Office of Mobilization and Organization, said in a statement:

“A question to the United States of America, Israel, Bahrain and the UAE: Will the signing of the normalization agreement at the White House now prevent these missiles from leaving Gaza tonight to Israel? Peace begins in Palestine and war begins in Palestine.”

It was reported last month that  Hamas and Israel had achieved a ceasefire agreement concerning rockets and aerial incendiary devices.The biggest game changer may be the almost certain ascent of the 31-year old Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the Saudi throne. MbS, as he is often referred to now, is close to Jared Kushner. He is also keen to make a foreign policy mark to eclipse local and international doubts about his youth, governing ability and statesmanship, particularly given his role in the catastrophic developments in Yemen, which attracted widespread international criticism.

Mohammed bin Salman is surrounded by advisors known for sympathetic positions towards Israel and hostility to Islamist groups such as Hamas. One of them is Abdul Rahman al-Rashed, an influential journalist-turned-political-advisor, whose anti-Hamas rhetoric has normalised criticism of the Palestinian group in Saudi media. Al-Rashed has lobbied to label Hamas as a terrorist organisation, a position adopted by Israel for many years.

Despite the clear cosying up, the Saudis still say the Israelis will have to offer the Palestinians a deal, or a variation of that; something the Saudis can build upon. The starting position should be Israeli acceptance of the Arab Peace Initiative, promoted by the late King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia in 2002. The plan calls for the establishment of a Palestinian state on the borders of 1967.
